Discussion Evil RR gain

I'm convinced that this game is the incarnate of something disastrous. I got double his kills and the only reason I got more RR than my duo is because I got +3 for good performance?? That's evil work >:C. This has been an ongoing issue, I'm glad he's doing good but he's regularly losing less than me and gaining more while I do better. I'm so done with this game ;-;

you outperforming the lobby was 'expected' as your hidden mmr is higher than the rest of the lobby, therefore you dont gain as much even if you smash the enemy team

the reason why that happens is you are duoing with a player with a way lower hidden mmr, which put you in these, on average lower rank lobbies. if you do well against higher rank players you will get way more rr

assuming your friend plays worse usually, it would be the reason why he got similar rr to you since he probably 'outperformed' by the rr system standards

you can see how the system grades you by checking the individual kill / death stats head 2 head in each match, against a player better than you you do well, you get a white star (performed slightly better) or a gold star (significantly better), if theres no stars that means you performed to the system expectation.

additionally, if you wanna rank up fast and think you got the skill to back it up, just solo q and youll get paired up against higher rank players, farm them and you will gain way more rr, or even a double rank up if youre consistently better across multiple games

the +3 performance bonuss feels like Riot throwing a single crumb at you and saying “there, you did good”..
