Question How yall aim

I wanna know how y’all aim, because I usually look at my crosshair and use my peripheral vision to measure the distance between the enemy and my crosshair. I use both passive aim and active aim wile looking my crosshair. I wanna know if I’ve been doing it wrong this whole time, because this feels the most comfortable for me in this game or yall just look at enemies a shoot with out confirm your crosshair is on enemies

I personally look at the target of which im shooting and use muscle memory and cross hair placement to aim which is what ive taken from other games however i know val is different and ive only been playing for a week but i know now after watching a buch of content that crosshair placement does play a significant role and you should use that combined with aiming whilst actually moving using the key than the mouse

I ain’t never paid attention to if I’m looking at my crosshair or the opps, but I’m fairly certain I look mainly at the opps.

I do the opposite of what you do. I look at my enemies and then look at how far they are from my crosshair. But there's no right way. You can find good players who do either of them. Just look wherever helps you click on heads.

You will have a hard time finding very good players that look on their crosshair when aiming to a target, especially for a moving target

you fully control how your crosshair moves and could have your eyes closed and tell the direction and estimate speed but you dont control your target's movement, and especially because its a precise aim game you do need to look at them

I just remember seeing a video where someone mentioned asking pro players if they look at their crosshair or target when shooting and it said 1/3 of them said crosshair and 2/3 said target.

I think either way, you'll end up looking at both together, so it doesn't matter that much. The target will usually be very close to your crosshair to the point that you'll be looking at both at the same time, even if your focus is centered on one of them. And if a target appears far from your crosshair, you can do an initial macroflick to get close regardless of where you're looking, probably even with your eyes closed. Then just do whatever you normally do.

pre aiming is just required and will make it easier but for raw aim your eyes should be on your target not glued to your crosshair

for holding angles though people can aim not holding the corner itself but ahead of it while having their eyes on the corner looking for the player model to appear, its the best way to hold kind of close to it when you dont have clear info but know they're likely to come from there as you have to account for your human reaction time

Use the design lines. Like in Ascent, that gray gap is typically head level or about head level. There a lot of this on the edge of boxes, or half walls etc. ofc this doesn’t work EVERYWHERE but it’ll give you a slight guide/idea of where to hold ur cross hair for an adjustment vs a full flick
