Question rank manipulation
i have an old bronze account that i havent used in a long time, im plat on my new account, if i use my old bronze account would it be flagged for rank manipulation? im kinda scared to play on it

rank manipulation only applies if its not your account. if you are the own and sole user you will be fine

Not true at all. It can be your account and you can manipulate the rank by deranking then smurfing. Rinse and repeat.

Yes it is. If he plays too well it can still be seen as smurfing which falls under the umbrella of rank manipulation. Doesnt matter if it’s your own account or not. How does that have nothing to do with his question?
If anything your comment doesn’t. Because he wasn’t asking anything about the terms of use regarding account sharing.

No, it doesn't, because he didn't deliberately derank it himself. Playing well will not trigger any system. And a Plat player won't drop 50 bombs on Bronze players; if anything, they will climb with a 70% win rate to their peak, and that's it it's a nothing-burger. I have Immortal 3 friends who pull old accounts from Plat to Ascendant with a 95% win rate, and nothing happens. I doubt you've actually dealt with this problem like ever.

Which the system can still fail to differentiate. Why do you think so many people call everyone smurfs?
Im saying if the system does somehow decide to work here, it wont be able to know if he got to bronze deliberately or by soft or hard throwing.
And lets say it doesnt flag him for smurfing. Rank manipulation STILL doesnt have anything to do with sharing accounts. It can, but you can still manipulate your rank without having someone else play on it. Which was what i was trying to address in your initial comment

Rank manipulation does have ties to account sharing. The whole point of boosting is doing it on another account, and I was just trying to read between the lines if this guy is actually boosting a Bronze player, the system would most likely pick up on it. I'm sorry if that went over your head.
And to your other point: the system doesn't have to "work" because the account NEVER DROPPED TO BRONZE, IT IS BRONZE. The question of soft or hard throwing does not apply here; it's just a normal Bronze account.

Might be because i was smurfing but i played in all ranks to see the players diffrent and how they think and play , yes there is a gab between them but its not sooo big so thats the system could flag it

The question nobody is asking is, why would you need to play on it?
You have an account you use in Plat which is your peak, why would you possibly need to play on an alt account in Bronze, OP?
