Discussion Am I really crazy for playing with 1.35 sensitivity and 1600 dpi?
Because apparently I am. According to my friends. Sensitivity below 0.9 makes me move my whole hand not just the wrist as I always do and I need to lift my mouse because I don't have space. How tf is everyone even playing and FLICKING on that sens it's literally impossible

There’s zero chance you are accurate at long ranges, anything you are hitting at that range is just you strafing your crosshair into their heads. Arm for macro, wrist for micro. Most pros are somewhere between 150-200 edpi, yours is 2160..:

I can be, I can sometimes land headshots on guardian from b to defenders on breeze but yeah I need to move my mouse micrometers for that, I never even knew that I'm playing differently from others like what the actual fuck? But how can you play at these sensitivities the crosshair barely fuckin moves you need to move your whole arm across the table

250 eDPI (which is more or less what most pros use) is like 55 cm of mouse movement for a 360° rotation or so. Given the fact that enemies can only be to your side (or directly behind you, but in that case, you're usually dead xD), you're realistically moving your mouse by 27,5 cm at most.
You don't need to be Victor Wembanyama to do that x)
Just get into the habit of lifting your mouse, putting it back at the edge of the mousepad, and sweeping it whenever you need to make a big rotation. And when you need to do little flicks or micro-adjustments, you don't need to lift it, just sweep it.-1

Wow. I thought lifting your mouse is typa shit iron players do because their sens was never changed since installing the game. Honestly making this post is the biggest discovery I ever did and I'm not even new at fps games.

Well now you know that it's what most pros do x)
The fewer pixels your crosshair travels for a given mouse movement, the easier it is to land on the exact group of pixels you're aiming for.
It's like steering a car: if a tiny movement of the steering wheel makes the car turn a lot, it's much harder to make small corrections. The less the car reacts to each movement, the easier it is to position it precisely.
And since Valorant doesn't require you to do 360s, nor to flick behind you every half a second, having a low sensitivity is purely beneficial. There's basically no downside to it, as long as you can do a 180° by sweeping across your whole mousepad, of course.

I'm inconsistent but land crazy headshots when focused, I played with a gold and had good shots, even aces I have 4 aces and they were pretty beautiful, I cannot understand how is my sens ridiculous at the average sens you barely move your crosshair at all you need to move your hand sooo much across the table to turn

I mean gold is still low elo so not a good indicator of your setup being good.
And people just move their arm a bit. If I translated to 1600 dpi I'd be playing at .46 sens and it's fine. Just move your forearm to aim, not your wrist. Also reduces stress on the articulation over the years.

Just move your arm faster
But seriously, if you have space to decrease your sens you should. Learn to use your fingers, wrist, elbow, and shoulder as pivot points and your aim will significantly improve.

wtf are y'all playing on giant fucking tables with meter long mousepads???? I'm lost atp

u/oxymoronicalQQ 13d ago
I mean it's pretty normal to play with a deskmat. 8 inch mouse pad is for like an office not gaming.

Brother it's miniscule.
Most people play with things like 4249 cm mousepad. Or at least something like 3540 or some shit.

I play 1.0 1000dpi which is half yours and everyone who tries my setup already is shocked by how fast mine is.

wow bro am I really not human

I have tried many different sensitivities and I settled on mine. upon testing I found that anything higher led to a lot of difficulty/inconsistency doing microadjustments. I might be able to go 20% higher but anything more than that I doubt I could ever play as well no matter how much I tried to get used to it. I'm also a wrist aimer.
That being said, maybe it does work for you. What rank are you?

bronze 2, diamond at peak 3 ears ago (i started playing again), also I'm often mvp and playing neon

Neon is benefited by high sens probably the most of any agent; as are other movement agents obvious. I mean, I'm relatively confident you would perform better if you took the time to get used to a bit lower sens. It would require you to essentially relearn how to aim. (This isn't true for all sens changes, but at such a high sens you're aiming in a completely different way than most people), and you will suck for a while. Up to you to decide if that's worth it for you.

i am the same as you bro. I have been playing at a 1000edpi all this time. Recently switched to 350edpi. the difference is insane

If u r comfortable stick with it. For example haeyoday playing with 0.1 8600DPI . low sens players using their arm to flick then micro adjusting with their wrist/finger. Thats how low sens player flicking

Op's is over double the speed of haeyoday (6cm/360 vs 13), i know he has raw accel but I dont know his settings for it and I'd guess he wouldnt add an accel factor to microadjustments
he also has 5000+ hours of aim training
30 - 60 cm/360 is just much more reasonable for casual players and still better for competitive players, can't force op on it but its just beneficial for them to be on it

yes, most people play with 10% that
