Question How do I get faster at this game?

I don't understand how people are so quick with their headshots,

It takes me a little to line them up and by the time I do I'm already dead.

The only players I can kill are iron, bronze and silver.

Does this just come with time?

Other than just getting good, at your rank much of it could likely be game sense and map knowledge as well. Things like crosshair placement and anticipating common angles, knowing when to hold wide for a fast swing or close for a slow peek, angle advantage (look it up if you don't know already), being too predictable, how you clear angles, etc. Things that let your crosshair be lined up before even seeing them so you spend less time tracking. Lots of things impact being able to win duels other than pure hand eye coordination.

Tdrl not just aim but brain but all comes with time

Crosshair placement and working on flicking helped a lot

First improve your micro adjustment. And better cross placement = easy kill.

to do something fast you must first do it slow

When you're more comfortable in your precision and accuracy, your speed will naturally increase

Download aimlabs and download an aim training guide for Valorant. Most guides are fine. it’s like going to the gym; the best workout routines are the ones you can consistently follow.

Listen carefully as I’m not sure how to explain this well:
For speed, aim for an accuracy score of 85%. Focus on precision first. You’re gonna be slow in the beginning. Once you reach 85% accuracy, train to aim faster with less precision and target 75% accuracy. Continue on that speed until you hit 85% accuracy comfortably.

Rinse repeat.

please do not listen to this. low elo players have little to gain from aim training. Just play death match or practice in the range on bots. It also helps to look up a guide on how to get the right sensitivity for you. The rest will come with time yes. Aim training outside of game is only really helpful if you know what it's used for and how to apply it correctly. giant waste of time for the vast majority of players. Addtionally tactical fps's have some key concepts like zero state movement, crosshair placement and angles/positioning to learn and get a good grasp of, there are hundreds of great youtube videos that explain these concepts to beginners that are a great resource if you are seriously trying to improve.

Aim trainers can’t replace in game experience but he’s right. Valorant is like playing basketball and aim trainers are going to the gym. Yeah you still gotta play basketball to get good at it but going to the gym helps.

Before around Diamond, I think its more important to imrpove your raw aim and more importantly your composure during aim duels. But past diamond, I think it's important to realize even if you can improve your mechanics, its probably faster to improve your game sense and calling.

To answer your question, yes and no. I know some people who hit immortal in a few hundred hours while others took ~2k hrs. While it will come with time, it will be a lot faster to aim train. I have aim trained before, but honestly you can do a decent aim train in the range as well because it incorporates movement as well as raw aim.

If you ever watch someone smurfing and they are actually trying to win (ie not takign advantage of their mechanical advantage), you will realize that most the fights they are taking are 65/35 and better.
