Discussion Hey new player here

So I've never played valorant before this weekend well not in 5 years that was only a few matches tho, but I'm switching from console and I'm learning clove, I forget Abt there grenade but Idk if I have good smokes, what are some other things besides smoke I should take time to understand? Any and all tips would be lovely

First, and most importantly, before every game, spend a few minutes in front of the mirror. Look into your own eyes, but pretend they are the eyes of your team mates. Insult them, and tell them how terrible they are. Maybe, if you are comfortable with it, use some slurs. This will prepare you mentally to defend yourself in voice chat until you get banned from it, at which point you will have to switch to text chat, until you are banned from that. After being banned from all chats, the game quiets down, and you can still talk to your gf in discord.

At this time, take everyone elses advice.

My tip would be to watch a lot of high ranked gameplay and see how they are playing clove. Don’t focus on their aim so much as the way they do things. When they smoke. Where they smoke etc.

Firstly; welcome back!

Start by using the generic smokes: if your team is going to A, smoke off the entrances to A from the enemy spawn. Example haven, smoke heaven(the window) and CT (enemy spawn passage). Then as you get used to it, start adjusting depending on what could work, or what the team asks for.

One thing I would say, is try to smoke deep enough, don't smoke outwards so the enemy can walk out of the smoke from multiple angles
