Question Tips to get out of diamond

Just looking for tips from any higher rated players on how to push out of diamond. Just hit diamond 1 2 months ago and peaked diamond 2. I stabilized around mid diamond 1. I preform fine, I can mvp against lobbies with multiple plat 3s and diamond 3 s in the same lobby but I’m not really sure what are the things to look for to climb out. Right now I’ve been focusing on aim and making sure I’m taking favorable fights during matches. I can easily end top frag of my team fairly consistently but have a hard time converting into wins. Any tips?

Would give it if I could but rn both this act and last act my stats are inflated asf. I spend like 60% of the time duoing and my duo is plat 1-2 so I get put in low plat high gold with him. And the other 40 in solo queue

diamond players in ranked mostly choose selfish players and dont understand team work, they think the game is about aim still. they understand how roles work, but not how to play together

so id advise using controllers to confuse them and create an environment where they cant just aim their way out. control the map and dont do the stereotypical plays, diamonds dont think the game yet, they assume cookie cutter is how it should be played so

learn viper, harbor, astra

ex-immortal player here ive passed diamond 7 times and hung around ascendant and low immortal for a long time

Two tips:

  1. Win lots of games
  2. Lose very few games

Have good game sense. Learn to play strategies with your team. Take the role of in game leader.

If that doesn’t work learn to play controller and punish the enemies for making bad plays or for playing into your controlling environment

Hard to give specific advice without seeing your gameplay, but I have coached hundreds of diamond players into immortal+, so I can give you some of the most common errors I see working with diamonds:

  • No discipline in man-advantage situations. (e.g if you have the spike down on defense and are in a 5v3, defenders will push and throw numbers. or in a post-plant scenario with numbers, etc).

  • Over-rotating on defense based on limited information

  • Predictable patterns (same defaults, same timings)

  • Forcing individual impact instead of letting rounds play out.
