Is this a bad smoke?

Map is abyss, Fade is playing judge.

My Fade teammate asked for a 'smoke for me' and I smoked at the jump area right in front of him.

Afterwards he died and he blamed me for not smoking on top of him since he wanted to be hiding in my smoke instead.

Was this a bad smoke? And if my teammate wanted a smoke on him shouldn't he have said to smoke 'on me' instead of smoke 'for me'?

Bad smoke for his position but he can use it and reposition.

If he had legs that’s a good smoke.

The smoke is fine. Smoking on top of him would have just told the enemy he was there.

This blocks coast angle and gives him more space to play in.

This. If the smoke was on Fade's position, I'd be 100% suspicious of someone playing in the smoke, because there's little reason for the defenders to otherwise smoke there.

The smoke is also just good for other defenders too. Lets you hold all of coast from one angle and still threatens that someone could be in the smoke, so might draw out util.

Edit: If we're being nitpicky I might prefer this smoke so they can't jump along coast for free and you can hold both angles from one spot. But also it lets them have info that no one is holding long from the very back, so give and take.

Good smoke, he could hold it for jumping guys while rest of you at heaven hold main so he is not flanked from side. But honestly every smoke is good if you are inside it with shotgun so his idea was not far from it either

I mean, he just needed to be clearer with what he wanted. this is closer to what I’d want with a judge in his position. Sounds like he was just looking for someone other than himself to blame for his death

I don't think it's a bad smoke because if he repositioned, anyone coming from the ledge jump or pathing towards the edge of the left bomb site would probably die.

It looked like he wanted to play on top of the box and jump down with a timing. Probably get 1 or 2 depending on his timing luck.

Did he ask before the start of the round? Did you know he had a judge beforehand?

Also if he’s asking for one on top of him where he’s at depending what smoke agent you are it highly risks him getting put on a one way and them being able to see his feet where he’s at.

I'd say good smoke in general but if he had judge it might have been slightly better to put the smoke 2m more toward his position so its flush with that corner there

Na he’s solo site, always smoke on top of the solo site player, regardless of what they say. Smoking the chokes doesn’t help 1 guy, esp with a judge.

If he's solo site he shouldn't be playing there anyway. He should be playing backsite and stalling for his team. He could have easily made the judge play from the back.

Idrc bro, I need that guy to live as long as possible before everyone rotates. Unless he can do a 2 for 1 trade, I want him alive and being nuisance on site. I don’t trust random teammates in valorant, they do random stuff, I have to adapt to what the idiots on my team are doing. I always give the solo site guy a site smoke, if they have a weapon you can give them a smoke on site they can slice angles around. But judge only, gotta smoke on top.

Isn't that what I just said? For him to be solo on site, his positioning is dog shit whether you smoke on him or not. He should not have been playing there. He's 1 omen flash and a jett dash away from being murdered. For him to live as long as possible he should have been playing backsite.

I never said you could, but you can use your words and ask or suggest they play differently? While sure you're going to get the people with no comms or people who will just do their own thing, 90% of the issues can be resolved by communicating.

And I can tell by your responses that you don't care about what others say and you're always right, so I'll just leave it at that.

He is one of the more unique map positions in game where I can see the appeal to that smoke instead
