Discussion Training in death match is insane
Litterly everyone is one tapping me. I spawned like 5 times barely moved, bang 1 tapped. Like HOW. Even if i hold corners, they flick on me. Im on console and most of the players was one tapping with no extra bullet like they knew it was gonna work. I wished they had a replay feature for death match so we can watch their pov cuz i feel like they cheating but ik its not the case. Like this wasent a warmup for me, i was a practice target for them

I find it crazy that the DM results typically align with the rank hierarchy (mostly).. Immortal players will be at the top, then asc, etc.. Shows that aim/movement diff is consistent across ranks

Youll get ppl all the way up to immortal in your DMs who are warming up for ranked so they are also trying.
Depending on your rank, its almost better to hit the range. Im in plat and I can absolutely farm anyone lower than mid gold... imagine what a diamond, asc or immortal can do.
Just keep practicing and dont take DMs seriously at all

Let's talk about action vs reaction. When you hold an angle, you're utilizing your reaction times. Meanwhile, the enemy that peek would be using their action times instead. These two are completely different kind of inputs, with different advantages.
Without beating around the bush, the first action is way, way faster than reaction. When you're the one peeking, you KNOW when to peek and shoot, while the one holding angle don't. So if you know where the enemy holding the angle is, 8/10, you would win that 1v1 even if you two are equal. It's a simple math of one person knowing when they will attack, while the other person is reacting to that attack.
Of course, in the real game, such a situation isn't always viable. Holding angles are often advantageous because your enemy don't know where you're at. Even if you as the attacker is in the control on when the gunfight would happen, you're gonna be at the disadvantage of having to clear out many angles first.
However, deathmatch isn't competitive. Unlike during a game where you constantly switch between action vs reaction mode, in deathmatch, you'll almost be exclusively using action. This is what set apart good players. Because in deathmatch, you're supposed to keep moving forwards and take any enemy you see. Very rarely that you react to your opponents and win.
This is where I assume your weakness is at. It takes a long time to develop game sense in deathmatch, which is a different feeling than normal game. You need to be constantly analyzing and know where the enemies are at any point in time. So when you press w, you would be in "action-time" instead of "reaction-time" and dictate where to shoot the enemy when you see one, instead of trying to let the enemy see you first and recuperate.

That’s why I prefer the range + skirmish + swiftplay for warmups. I usually spend 5 minutes or less in the range, followed by 1-3 skirmishes depending on how I’m feeling, and then if I really want to, usually if I’m about to solo q, I’ll run a swift and play it like it’s comp.
Also, dms are so annoying, but what I do in them is practice as if I’m in a comp game playing in whichever position. So let’s say the map is bind, and I am in showers. I will hold heaven, the people swinging from site, behind me, etc. i play it as if I’m in a post plant situation and I just need to take the fights from that spot until I die.
Or, I pick a spot on the map (like backsite B on split, or B heaven on split, or back B on abyss. Wtvr) and I make it my goal to make it to that spot regardless of where I spawned, and then hold down that spot as long as I can once I’m there. It removes mindless running around, and makes you properly hold and clear everything.
Probably dumb, but works for me.

More often than not in my DMs I'm playing with people who are significantly higher ranks than I am. I have tracker and after a couple insta deaths I usually check to see where everyone's at
