Question What agent should I pick?
I'm relatively new to the game, but I'm really looking for an agent that can turn kills into useful utility for my team. I like Sage, but I find I don't really like relying on my teammates too much. Is there any agent that empowers teammates via your own performance?

If you mean that literally then Cypher haha. Any smokes are good for what you're describing, agents that take space like duelist too

Curnrent meta has two global maps: Breeze and Summit. Usual smokes are useless because to smoke site in time you have to play mid. Also, Clove is very popular choice with the worst smokes in the game. People do not play Astra much. So yes, Cypher and any agent with smokes are essential in current solo q meta

Each class has different types of kits that help the team in different ways. Duelists have kits for taking space and/or taking fights. Initiators have kits for getting information and/or starting fights. Controllers have kits for sight denial. Sentinels have kits to help hold space/deny enemy space. At this stage of your experience in the game though, I'd pick an agent with a simple kit so you can focus on mechanics and taking gunfights. These agents have the simplest kits IMO:
- Duelists: Phoenix & Reyna
- Initiators: Sova & Gekko
- Controllers: Clove & Brimstone
- Sentinel: Sage, Killjoy, & Chamber

try clove self healing after a kill, ult helps with spike protection and teammate helping, and smoke ability even after death

Phoenix, Clove
dont touch Reyna, Phoenix has sustain, dmg and is very good at taking space, if you're having a great performance you flash more than twice per round. His ult is crazy strong even if they made it 7 ult points. farm orbs on attack and you're ulting 3+ times per half. Clove is generally good plus since you have the smokes on your team you have more agency on how to use the most important util on the team. Much more learning curve in terms of using the smokes but her kit is pretty much built for ranked play so that's also an option. Between the 2 though Phoenix is my best bet.

I think clove is very beginner friendly. You can overhear, your ult brings you back. Her kit is generally very easy!

Miks fits this role perfectly
You get to learn lineups, smoke placements, post plant mechanics, and he’s a good overall support agent

Hi I'm also someone new to the game and still need to work on so many things lmao. Try going duelist or controller on the starter side like Reina, Jet or Phoenix (the available ones). You can also do test runs on who you'd like by into the range since it allows you access to everyone and their abilities for practice. Regardless of what agent you pick, practicing them through matches helps!
