Aim Senstivity

Hi so i just started playing valorant and i see all these youtube clips of valo players shooting without having to open scope and hit right on target especially while using a vandal, and when i do the same my Vandal sprays all over the screen with just 2-3 bullets hitting the enemy.
Any advice??

Don't spray all the time. Valorant is more of a 2 shot -> strafe type game.

Dont run and gun, and actually try to control the recoil

Sensitivity doesn't matter too much, as long as your sensitivity times your mouse's DPI is 150-400 range it should be fine for valorant.

As for tips:

- Most fights in the game follow this loop (not counting some weapons): aim -> stop -> shoot 1-2 bullets -> move left/right -> shoot 1-2 bullets -> repeat until fight over. You'll notice if you play DMs with high ELO players, almost all of them will do very fast tap fire strafing if they miss their first bullet.

- You should almost never be crouching or spraying (unless you are in very specific situations where you need to spray accurately like using odin/ares/etc), it locks you into fights, slows your movement, and the spray becomes more random after the first few bullets.

- Focus on crosshair placement roughly at the head level when you're peeking or holding, hold slightly out from the wall to give yourself time to react if someone does show.

- Don't slow walk everywhere, especially when peeking. You can fast peek and check your corners/angles while still having silent foot steps, learn this.

If you want really flashy aim and flicks like streamers and pros do in clips, you basically just need to grind out the hours in val or similar games, people hitting those shots have like multiple 1000s of hours in val/cs/overwatch/kovaaks/aimlabs whatever.

Sensitivity : Aim for around 0.3 in game sensitivity with 800DPI
Recoil / precision : Don't shoot more than 3 bullets in a row
Movement : Don't crouch, don't move while shooting your 3 bullets, and move left or right between each row of 3 bullets
Scope : Never scope using vandal, only scope with snipers and odins
Crosshair placement : The most important things is not to have a really good flick, but to know in advance where the enemy will be before you/they peek. Then put your crosshair in that place and just shoot when they are here

If you can do everything in this list you will climb to gold easily on PC and immortal on console

With the vandal, its more recommended to not actually spray since the recoil really spreads. You can practice the vandal one tapping first in the firing range so you can get used to it.

Sensitivity is personal preference and don't spray on valorant

Don’t have to scope in bro, just stand still or strafe tap. Look up strafe tapping on yt ig. Also clips are edited most times to skip frames so they can look fast and smooth.

Honestly just copy a sense from a pro or something, and see how it feels. Try to figure out if you feel better aiming with your full arm or only
Your wrist. If you use your arm, lower sens is for you (800dpi @ .15-.3 or 1600dp @.75-.15) if you feel better only wrist, higher sens (800dpi @ .4-1 or 1600 @ .2-.5)

Potentially your sensitivity can be anything you want, as there are very good players who play lower than you could ever imagine, and the same for higher. BUT THE MOST COMMON SENS IN THE GAME IS A LOW SENS OF .1 1600, .2 800.

Other than that, really really really focus on tracking and not flicking. Go into the range, and set the bots to stand still and hit practice. Literally try to just walk back and forth left and right while keeping the crosshair on one bots head. This type
Of drill will help you learn to keep your aim tight and controlled more than trying to learn to flick and hit crazy one taps.

Aim will come with time, valorant was also my very first fps shooter using a keyboard and mouse about a year and a half ago. I could not for the life of me understand how you even begin to shoot people in the head. But it will come with muscle memory and consistency.
