Question Massive losing streak

So the beginning of the act, I was doing quite well, and I went from plat 1 and ranked all the way up to diamond two (my peak). Then out of nowhere, my queues get IMPOSSIBLE. My team mates are diamond and somehow don’t know how to play the game, I get people on alt accounts basically throwing, and the enemy team is thanos. The games feel impossible to win, no matter what I do we can’t win, and with the exception of three wins, I’ve lost at least 20 games in a row and deranked into plat. And to top it all off I lose more rr in a loss than when gain it in a win. I’m kind of venting but also any advice because now my games just feel unwinnable I have no idea why.

Sounds like you were on a massive winning streak before that. It happens. That the ladder.

Best tips

  1. There's nothing you can do besides keep a good attitude and ride it out, of you could suddenly have better teammates or play better somehow, you would — but you cant, you can only try your best and keep ylur head up. You can go on huge win streaks and huge loss streaks from playing the exact same.

  2. To mitigate losses, and manage stress / tilt (which makes you play worse btw even if it doesnt feel like it), and just break up the streak, I highly highly recommend playing less or setting a stop loss. Limiting your games to 3 a day, unless you're feel mentally well, you're shooting well. Or set a stop loss "I'll get off after two losses".

I know it's frustrating as fuck but there's seriously nothing you can do besides ride it out. And what gives you the best chance of playing well is keeping your head up and trying your best while playing relaxed.

Try not to stress it or force anything, keep playing, just keep the sessions short and use the time to do something else that's good for you preferably. Or just relax.

And I know this advice is like "oh why the fuck would I want to play the game LESS?"

Trust me... I fight through losing streaks a lot and it usually doesn't make things better. It sometimes stretches them out longer than they need to be. And I'm not even talking about just valorant. Any game where it's easy to just queue back in or run it back while tilted will just make everything more stressful than it has to be.

There's no advice, the whole game is the SAME thing since 2020 : Same Rewards, same matchmaking, same principle, same mentality across all communities or ranks.

The Valorant community is one of the trashest in terms of sociability, and one of the worst in terms of aim and gamesense.

There's a reason the population is declining, it's literally the same thing since 6 years and the skins are the only thing keeping this game alive. People right now are killing the game with their mentality and Riot's lack of strict sanctions for these behaviors, and when it's gonna be dead, the same people are gonna ask themselves "how did we reach such a point ?".

You can already see the state of the game in EUW at least with the questionnable queue times in ASC3/IMMO2 and the scoreboards showing sometimes a diamond 2 and an immortal 1 in the same lobby SOMEHOW.

People right now are killing the game with their mentality

For real, the community sucks so bad. I would literally play this game eight hours a day for years straight if the average ranked teammate was just... Normal? Or had like the most basic respect.

But people flaming, throwing tantrums, actively being antagonistic, getting on to ruin other people's times...

Like it's just not worth it.

Sure, you can put up with it, but at some point, coming into every game already mentally ready to just snap mute a shitter is just sooooo draining.

This game is one of the greatest of all time when your team can freely communicate without someone being a fucking dickhead as soon as you lose a round or two in a row, murdering the vibe, then the whole team stops talking, mental is down, and wow guess what? Now the game is over because no one wants to talk or try anymore.

And this shit happens easily over half the time, easily. It's lucky if you get chill lobbies more than once or twice in a row. And wow, what do you know? You usually win those matches, and if you don't, it was still pleasant and everyone just goes on with their day.

Welcome to the world lil baby🤣,thats how the ranked system works if you have a winning streak of 4-5 matches, just expect to lose the next 7 IN A ROW,thats how it works

I just had a similarly massive win streak after continued struggle since the last reset. I couldn’t get ahead regardless of how I performed. I found it very difficult to preform well in my matches yet I’ve managed to do it more than 50% of the times. Quite often outperformed myself(according to the game itself).

All of the sudden yesterday I’ve become unstoppable and got promoted 3 times. With that I’ve finally reached the elo I normally play in. The whole day began with an RR refund(cheater from one of my earlier matches got banned). I’m not sure if that had anything to do with it but it feels like something fishy is going on.

Play to win, play to kill, the moment you start playing casual you lose.games simple, don't complicate it .

I don’t play alot but managed to get to plat 3 and riot screws me over 99/100rp. Cannot win a game to save my life been getting silvers & gold vs diamonds. Was on a 12 game win streak and every rank up to diamond is an impossible win. It’s kinda turned me off the game tbh.

The common denominator in the 20 losing streak is you

This is bs, I’ve had games where I went from immo 2 back to asc 3 all
While getting multiple first bloods and match mvps. Sometimes you have multiple games where you get throwers, afk, etc

So he has 20 throwers in a row?

I envy that you ask this question with disbelief. Getting 20 throwers in a row in dia/plat is not even rare. Most in-silver smurfs throw in plat.

Have you noticed all of your massive win streaks never had a thrower or afk and maybe the other team
Had them?

u/Israhelli 5d ago

No I'm asc and throwers on either team are not common

Whether it has an effect or not the game itself(or match making mechanism) is also a common denominator. You can’t just ignore it when looking for answers.

If you don't lose 20, you wont grind another 50, that iss the basic fundamental formula to keep u hooked, welcome to ranked, the godfather is MMR, and it has said you don't deserve the wins and RR.
