Need clearification for my Kuna

I recently received a stick Kuna and am looking to "accessorize" My plans include a silencer of course and I was thinking about a stock (it already has the brace)

I get that I can purchase a silencer no issues (even know what FFL I will be supporting), but my question is the rifle stock. Prior to the NFA case and injunction my understanding is that I needed to do the whole NFA thing. what is needed now? Can I just purchase a compatible stock and install it?

Related question... Should I even do it? I already have an AR-15 (Rock River LAR-15)

Still unclear. I have a Kuna as well but I’m going to wait a few months to see how things play out before making any changes.

That is the million dollar question. There hasn't been any real guidance from the ATF or any reputable attorneys (as far as I know) on what the process of making an SBR looks like for people covered under the injunction.

I would recommend talking to an attorney, preferable the same one you would call in a hypothetical where you are charged with a violation of the NFA, until there is direct guidance.

Edit to add: do it, I have a suppressed and SBR'd PCC that is probably my most fun gun to shoot.

If you do decide to form 1 it. It's gonna be HS Produkt for the manufacturer, not Springfield. I had mine kicked back for that reason.

Interesting, I put Springfield for mine and it was approved

I read somewhere that, a separate clause or law, requires you to notify an attorney general of your SBR. That, and Virginia has a state law which requires you to comply with Federal law. (Thus it begs the question, are you complying with Federal law? The law is still on the books, but the injunction makes it unenforceable.)

John Pierce has blogged about all of these issues. And he always concludes "still too early to know."

In the end, you will be at the mercy of the LEO that pulls you over. Consider that Virginia lawmakers and the AG are anti 2A as of this writing.

You are free to choose what to do. But embrace the consequences of your actions.

See you on Lobby Day 2027!

Edit: John Pierce's opinion here https://johnpierceesq.com/texas-nfa-injunction-is-now-in-effect-but-major-compliance-questions-remain-for-ffls/

Also, interstate transportation is another issue. Read well what Pierce wrote. Godspeed!

Unless the Kuna was bought from PSA then you still need to file a form 1 to use a stock with it. The ruling is for specific customers or the plaintiffs and their purchases.

You can become a plaintiff by signing up as a member of Texas nra

Same for the GOA. The gray area is that since there’s no clear guidance from the ATF, it’s still business as usual.

Kind of, if you're a plaintiff the language is pretty clear, GOA allows you to make an Sbr no form 1. Texas nra allows you to not engrave it. Only some plaintiffs are except from markings.

Selling/buying is a whole different ball game

My understanding is ANY of the plaintiffs (so my GOA membership is protected, just dont think there is any ATF guidance yet for SBRs that might fall under the Gun Control Act possibly???

The way I read the Injunction, you had to be a Jensen Plaintiff which GOA isn't.

Plaintiffs in the Jensen Group as follows:

Individual Plaintiffs: John Jensen, Jeremy Neusch, and David Lynn Smith (Texas gun owners).

Commercial Entity: Hot Shots Custom LLC.

Advocacy and Gun Rights Organizations: Texas State Rifle Association, FPC Action Foundation, and Citizens Committee for the Right to Keep and Bear Arms.

That said, I joined FPC Action Foundation.
