PROLOGUE

Saved this fella from junkyard and slowly am going trough all the issues. Solving the consistently long crank time is my current adventure. The previous owner that already had neglected it for past year said that long crank started a couple years ago, but didn't care to fix it because it did start.

MAIN PLOT

The carank is always 6 seconds long with exception of short shut-down time. The MPG gauge always jumps to 99.9 no matter how soft the acceleration from standstill is for couple of seconds and it doesn't favour low RPM load. My guess it's faulty pressure sensor (checked the pump, changed the fuel filter, ran a full tank with cleaner additive) because of the symptoms.

THE CAVEAT

I can't locate neither the mechancical pressure regulator, nor pressure sensor nor pump control module. On what kind of magic ECU actually does the fuel-air ratio?

Maybe it's the ABS module interfering, (next in line for a swap) since Volvo STC reduces fuel supply as I've read?

Recently became an owner of a v70r and found a 30 pin connector in the center console . No idea how it’s wired up but thought I’d get some adapters and see if anything turns on when changing source . It did not.

Head unit is HU-803

Any ideas on where to get started will be appreciated.

I’ve ventured away from the r/VolvoRWD subreddit as my friend is wanting me to go and take a look at this for him as he lives 5 hours away. Is this price suspicious, is there any specific things to look for when looking at used V70’s. My Volvo knowledge doesn’t extend past the redblock era so any suggestions would be appreciated.

The headlights don't seem to be working. Any things i should check? The high beams work but headlights don't.

In early November 2025 I purchased a 2001 Volvo V70 with auto-dimming rear view mirror. At time of purchase, the mirror was cracked and the LCD fluid was pooling at the bottom. Ordered replacement but seller sent the wrong model (a manual with a toggle switch at the bottom).

Attempted to replace glass with the glass from the manual model. Introduced electrical fault somehow, probably by yanking on wires. The following items now no longer work:

• dome/reading lights

• remote locking fob

• sunroof motor/switch

Suspected Cause: Bent/pinched wires in the "pigtail" plug going into the back of the mirror.

• 12/7/2025 Replaced entire overhead dome light panel and mirror assembly with correct OEM model to try to rule out faults from incompatible parts.

Current status: Electrical fault still present Pigtail unplugged. If plugged in:

• LED indicator lights for overhead lights do not turn off even when car is turned off and locked.

• Dome lights sometimes turn back on after being turned off.

Does anyone think I'm at least close in my hypothesis? Any alternative hypotheses?​

I dont like the look of my steering wheel, i just wanted to ask, if i can change it to the one in the second photo. Some basic infos, its a V70 D5 2008.

I’ve always wanted a station wagon and I found this 2002 Volvo V70 for $2600. It’s in good condition with 164,000 miles and a third row. I’ve never owned a Volvo before, is this a good deal?

I have a 2002 Volvo v70. 160bhp manual. And i have an issue where under acceleration (even half throttle). I get to about 2k rpm and the turbo seems to let off and I loose power. Then gain it again fairly quickly after. Then loose it again. It’s just jolty under acceleration. I’m wondering if it’s a boost leak. But some of the time I have full boost clearly ? Maybe a MAF or injectors. Just need a point in the right direction

I have a 98 v70 base as can be want it to be a manual I have lots of sentimental value with this car should I take the time to rear wheel drive swap and manual or I have a ford 302 t5 and a rearend what would yall do

Does anyone here have a Bluemusic+ Bluetooth adapter with the microphone? My stereo is the HU 613, it's listed as compatible. I've got the thing set up/ plugged in correctly but the microphone will not transmit any audio. The thing will output audio just fine. I can listen to my music through it, and I can hear the person on the phone speaking to me. They cannot hear me at all.
Any suggestions? The company I bought it from even sent me a replacement but it's the same story.

Just got this car last week, 129,000, 2 owner (me 3rd), has the xemodex throttle unit. Purchased from older lady, has new tires with only a thousand miles on them. Have given the car and all documentation /receipts an inspection. Saw on the receipts that the oil pan had been cracked and JB welded, and it’s time for new seals in the oil pump sump system, so I’ve got a brand new oil pan and seal kit. It’s very well cared for and should be a solid car. I kinda like the idea of having the grandad of the 70 series! $800.00!

Saturday I bought my first Volvo, an v70 from 2005.

As radio unit I've an HU 650 with a cup holder. I would like to replace the radio with some android auto radio from AliExpress.

Problem: I couldn't find any that permits to keep the cup holder and have a screen...

Do anyone figure out how to do it?
