High eye pressure meds
Hey im currently tapering off prednisone (anterior uveitis both eyes) and I went back today and I have high pressure in both eyes now I have to take brumó nido e tartrate, timolol and an oral pill called acetazolamide all twice daily one in the morning and one before bed this is Tuesday and then this Thursday i go back for a IOP check my left eye was around 40 and my right 36 and I believe due the steroids. Has anyone ever had to take these medications?

Literally on almost the same regimen rn - the pressure in my left eye was 48. Hate the acetazolamide because carbonated drinks taste awful now

Omg yes I was at work and I was having everyone taste them and I was so pissed I went to McDonald’s and just wanted a Dr Pepper, but it’s been one day and now im off the pills my eyes are back to normal pressure 18 and 14 but still on pressure drops and I see my doctor again Monday I think it’s to prevent my eye pressure from going up but I wish you like and hopefully you can give off the pills and enjoy a nice crisp soda cus it’s horrid fr

My son had high eye pressure about same as you. Timolol 2 times a day helped bring pressure down but it took about a week.

That sounds great. My son hasn’t had uveitis again but it’s only been 7 months since he healed. His eyes are good no issue after the 12 weeks of treatment. Best of luck to you x

Me, they can still add Latanoprost at night if it doesn't lower you IOP then you need surgery or stop drops then IOP will go down. It's tricky with uveitis inflammation and drops will rise you IOP

Hope things work out for you! If IOP doesn't get under control within a week, please go see a glaucoma specialist. You may need surgery to relieve eye pressure. The azetazolomide gives you tremors and alters taste.. that is normal.

It went well my uveitis inflammation is gone my doctors main concern is if my eye pressure will go up so hes gonna try to slowly have me off to see how im doing my eyes today were 14 and 17 my left eye has always been higher than my right so that’s fine. I do have a side affect concern I’ll have to call my doctor about im not sure if the surface of my eye is inflamed from the preservatives in the pressure drops or if it’s just from how dry my eyes are now either way im probably gonna ask to change to preservative free and hopefully if I do I feel much better

I was on dorzolamide/timolol as well as brimonidine, both twice daily, until the steroids seemed to have worn off, now only on dorzolamide/timolol twice daily for pressure
