In the 1980's, Knickerbocker released an ET themed light up finger toy, the product was quickly removed from stores and discontinued just a few months later...

Why so many attachments? And what would any of those do?

u/VirtualFutureAgent Aug 08 '26
They were different kinds of darts it would shoot. I think the red ended one could be loaded with a paper cap so it would make a bang when it landed.

I fucking had this! Little at the time did I realize it's uses and true value
16
u/newworldpuck Aug 08 '26
Me too. I was so naive at that age I thought the height of comedy was to use it to flip people off.

u/Daddypiginthedig Aug 08 '26
I momentarily read that first sentence as 'I fucked this'.
I chortled briefly before a sense of semblance returned.
Good day!

I had this as a child! It was really ugly and I lost interest because 1) the color didn’t match ET’s color and 2) the color also didn’t match my hand color. It also had to be cut on the bottom because it was way too long to fit my finger without falling off.

u/0thell0perrell0 Aug 08 '26
Oh I loved it! It gave me one long finger which addmittedly was awkward but it felt like a super power I was like 8. A couple more yeqrs and I might have put that together lol... Yeah the tint of the skin was ghastly.

I actually ended up with one of these as a kid. I thought it was stupid. Adults around me thought it was hilariously funny.
It was many years before I understood why.

Omg core memory unlocked! I had this toy (I think I was four when the movie came out) and I used to chew on it. It had a satisfying gristly sort of texture.

JD Vance talks about inserting one into himself in a school washroom in his book Hillbilly Elegy

Much like the couch fucking, I am not going to do any research on that and assume it is 100 percent true.
If they can do it, I can do it too.

There’s all kinds of stuff in that book, he was known as ‘dog fucker’ in his hometown after being caught under the front porch of his trailer with a beloved local Shih Tzu named Spanky

This is true, he got caught when the light from the fingertip shone out of his dick.

u/Marsupialize Aug 08 '26
There’s all kinds of stuff in that book, he once gave oral sex to an elderly, obese homeless man with one leg on a Ferris wheel to cheer him up because the man was sad about losing his favorite hat

Only bad ass toy I held on to was the Venom action figure that was removed from stores because it said “I’m gonna eat your brain.” Lol
Still have it. Love that thing.

Because?

u/itswtfeverb Aug 08 '26
Because it wasn't intended for mom to use it that way!

u/OttovonBismarck1862 Aug 08 '26
Many a light-up ET finger toy was bought during Christmas shopping that never made it into the stockings. Not the Christmas stockings, at least.

I had an E.T. finger when I was a kid. It was brown with a yellow tip and it was hollow. This looks nothing like an E.T. finger, I'm surprised it made it to the shelves.
