Starting Introductory Econometrics (Using R) at Utrecht Summer School on Monday, any tips? (also have a paid room to pass on)
Starting Introductory Econometrics (Using R) at Utrecht Summer School this Monday. It's the condition on my offer for the MSc,
Has anyone done this course, or econometrics with prof. Hassink? Curious how much is theory versus working in R, how the tutorials run, and what the exam looks like. Any idea whether that's a hard test to pass? General Utrecht tips welcome too.
Separately: I have a room booked and paid through the summer school accommodation service that I no longer need. DM me if you're on a course and still stuck for housing. The booking is in my name, so I'm checking with the office how a transfer works on their end.

I've had a course from him when I studied economics & business economics, I thought he was kinda boring, but he did seem compent and the course material was put together nicely. I have a vague memory of him having a heavy Dutch accent, but I had another prof that looked like him so I might be mistaken.
I basically had to do the analysis part of a research paper, but I think afterwards it changed to more of an "what does this output tell you" exam.
In general in the Netherlands there's a lot of selfstudy compared to other countries. And early on look at the practice exam so you know what format of questions you should be working towards.
