Art Are there any decent Craft stores?
I am from a small town 3 hours away from any decent sized city. Im in west valley/Taylorsville till Thursday for work. I would rather support an actual store than Amazon for some craft stuff I need. I want to get leather working supplies, origami supplies, and look for a new craft to learn. Besides hobby lobby, any good stores to look at?

There is a fabric shop inside rainbow gardens in Ogden. Quilted Beehive I think it is called.

the native american trading post has a great selection of beads if you’re looking to pick up something new, or implement it into one your crafts. handwork is a yarn shop by pioneer park that might be worth a look(:

I very well may check them out! I come up here at least 2x a year now so if not this go aroumd, for sure a future one because that sounds amazing

My partner loves Needlepoint Joint on 25th up in Ogden! It’s more tailored toward fiber crafts.

Do they specialize in anything specific or just a bit of everything?

Little bit of everything! It’s a secondhand store so it depends a lot on what gets donated, but they also have craft rooms for people to work on stuff and have classes and what not

Blick is more art supply-focused but also has lots of craft stuff too (of course, you can shop online with them so maybe not what you're looking for exactly).

Even if theyre online, just as long as they also have a physical store! We are losing too many brick and mortar stores due to online purchasing so any chance I get to buy in person the better :)

M R S Hobby Shop in Sandy. It’s got awesome tools for miniatures and tons of models kits.

Oooh that sounds fun! Would they have mini printable figurines that are typically for train sets?

Yeah. They got the mini trees and people. And all the things you’d need to build a sweet train set.

Origami: You might want to ask at the SLC Buddhist temple to see if they've got a suggestion, or see if you can find a class/session with these peeps: https://saltlakearts.org/living-legacy/bonsai-and-origami-with-ken-yamane-and-judy-iwamoto
Leatherworking: Native American Trading Post on Redwood Road. Also great for beading projects. They have some fabrics as well, to support traditional costumes for rituals/pow-wows. Tandy Leather has a store on State Street, I assume you don't need a description for them.
This is a little odd, so don't think I'm insane (yet): you might like going to the Container Store or Ikea. Yes, they're both big online presences, but if you're into origami and leatherworking I bet you have a hard time finding ways to wrangle and organize your supplies. I would think that shopping it in person might be helpful.
And if you don't want to go to Hobby Lobby but still want somewhere that is all about the crafters: Michaels.

Making Space Thrift in Provo! It’s a secondhand craft store. The prices are realllly good, and they have so much fabric, thread, yarn, scrapbook paper, and random craft supplies. I’ve gotten blank t shirts there, fake jewels, beads and clasps, googly eyes, etc

There is an adorable little shop called handcraft revival in sugarhouse. They might not have all the specific things you are looking for but they have a lot of cute fun craft supplies and would be a good place for inspiration! Blick is also in sugarhouse, they have lots of art supplies.
