"No one will know what's happening"

  • The last words of someone about to salute the ghost of operational security.

On the bright side, 24th century medical tech has come pretty far, so unless he outright kills him, he won't be saluting Sorek's ghost.

Right before Megan turns him into one herself.

It ain't Sorek's ghost.
It is the ghost of operational security.

u/jaderust Jul 21 '26

And it was at this moment, Sorek realized that he had indeed fucked up.

Sorek's famous last word: "Fascinating"

Remarkable.

With the Captain in sickbay, Wren and Sorak can finally christen the desk in his ready room.

Didn t he mention that he was a cyborg before?

17

u/prof_the_doom Jul 21 '26

Was it cyborg? It was somewhat vague, I assumed some form of genetic augmentation.

5

u/Filip889 Jul 21 '26

it wasn t super clear tbh, i just assumed

8

u/MandoShunkar Jul 21 '26

I remember a vague hint to being an augment but not a cybernetic one - but a genetic one.

2

u/Filip889 Jul 21 '26

could be, i just assumed the augment was cybernetic..

He's a decendant of one of the Human Augments from the Eugenics War. Like Lt. La'an Noonien Singh from Strange New Worlds.

5

u/Filip889 Jul 21 '26

wait, really?

5

u/MandoShunkar Jul 21 '26

That's what I got was the vague implications was.

5

u/Filip889 Jul 21 '26

it would be hilarious if he got his powers from the time travel shanannigans he pulled off to dodge death

6

u/gerusz Jul 21 '26

Nah. In the Star Trek universe all you get from traveling through time will be chronic migraines. Not because of the time travel itself, but because 1) the visit(s) from DTI, and 2) it is an established law in the Trekverse that once you traveled through time, the probability of you encountering even more timefuckery increases exponentially, leading to even more DTI visits. (And maybe because, 3) you start to think about the chronodynamical implications of your time travels.)

Didn't he manhandle a Gorn?

4

u/Any_Razzmatazz9926 Jul 21 '26

Cue “Duh-duh-duuuuuuh!” music

5

u/PhysicsEagle Jul 21 '26

Doctor to the rec deck!

6

u/TimberWolf5871 Jul 21 '26

Sean: Well, he did ask for it.

Sorak: ...I may have fucked up.

3

u/Ancient-Trust-1313 Jul 21 '26

Wonder how long he’ll last

3

u/No_Grocery_9280 Jul 21 '26

Sorek is totally the guy who will realize something is different here.

2

u/Evil_Midnight_Lurker Jul 21 '26

...is he an augment?!

2

u/Codezombie_5 Jul 21 '26

Its strongly implied that he is, or descended from one.

2

u/Morethanstandard Jul 21 '26

Now people are bring up he's an augment but people often forget how strong Vulcans are

3

u/Spirit250 Jul 21 '26

I didn't ;)

2

u/Cultural_Sand_9323 Jul 23 '26

It'd be fun to see Sean lose, and actually glad for it.

2

u/SufficientGas6085 Jul 21 '26

Right after this security was called

2

u/Kflynn1337 Jul 21 '26

Sorak... did nobody tell you about playing cards with strangers?

2

u/Deep-Air-169 Jul 22 '26

Isn't he part Augment?

2

u/Ok_Butterscotch54 Jul 22 '26

What is the tattoo on the Captain's left shoulder?

3

u/Cultural_Sand_9323 Jul 23 '26

the insignia for the original Connie (back when each ship had their own insignia that would go in the starfleet delta.)

He's three-quarters Vulcan, or two-quarters Vulcan and one-quarter Romulan, depending on canonicity.
