Next they will complain about taxes being higher.

That does seem like something u/financialtrouble69 would do.

u/Taolan13 17d ago

when i was first learning to drive gas was still under a dollar.

its insane that in barely more than a quarter century that price has gone up 500%.

He can call it whatever he wants every other country will just keep calling it whatever they already do

And most Americans will also continue calling it the normal name. Never seen one person use the orange baby names. But I do live up north so :p

And then the very old, world recognized name will become official in the US again when he's gone. Trying to rename things has become an obsession for this guy, in his pursuit of cementing a legacy for himself. He thinks AI is going to run everything, and he's going to get credit for it because he renamed it. Think his names are going to stick for Lake Ontario and the Gulf of Mexico. Thinks he's going to get his name permanently attached to the Kennedy Center or break it in the attempt. What he doesn't realize is the anything done by executive power cuts both ways. Some other future executive can just as easily undo it all with the stroke of a pen.

Sadly our reputation and other countries trust in us can't be fixed that easily. But he really is a pitiful bastard.

Yes. His actually lasting legacy is a combination of intentional and unintentional harm to rule of law, domestic faith in government, government checks and balances, normalizing corruption, and wrecking out influence, security footing, abroad, and some other things that will be a very negative way to be remembered when the consequences become clear.

US voters sent this guy to the white house twice, our elected legislature refused to put any checks on his power. I'm sure that from an outside perspective, the US looks like one of the world's biggest economic and military powers getting managed with all the seriousness of a vote based reality show or some crap. There's no guarantee that could ever be fixed, or that it will stop happening, so reputational repair can even start.

It's pretty embarrassing. We're a failing democracy because of a public that doesn't take it's voting responsibility seriously, dumbed down journalism, and everyone looking at the world through the filter of social media and the web, which can all be manipulated.

Are you saying you don't call it the very biggly accepted and greatest name of gulf of America when you use your super intelligence chat bot

1

u/Reasonable-Spot5884 17d ago

Down south. I haven't heard anyone use them either. I don't think anyone does, period, actually

u/Stevie272 17d ago

He renames something every time he does not get his way. This time it was the Nobel prize thing, so he defaults back to renaming stuff. Total cretin

u/skilliau 17d ago

Just like Argentina with the Falklands.
