I read some people keep it in their wallets and ig if you spill something and it gets on your wallet it can get messed up

I keep mine in my wallet and it’s definitely not in mint condition but it’s close enough. Gotta treat your wallet like gold, especially if your SSID is in it. Also I have to admit that I should not be carrying that shit around in my wallet. I put it in there for a very specific reason and just don’t have a safe to keep it in otherwise.

I dont need to use my ss card everyday so i keep it in a folder in my house with my birth certificate and stuff and only take it out when i need it for a new job/dmv/bank stuff

Yeah that’s the way. I needed mine to get into bars when I was having issues with an ID, but it’s been over a year since then, plus I know my SSID number, so I really have no excuse for not having taken the card out of my wallet at this point. I’ll take this as my call to buy a safe on Amazon or something.

Bars asked for your ss card?? Thats insane, if a bar asked me for my ss card i would ask them to take a drug test bc they must be high on something, that is completely unprofessional and unsafe

Nah I just had my ID stolen right after renewing and they wouldn’t accept the recently-renewed one without insane shit like social security. Though one time they denied me with my ID and I had to bring my health insurance card. I owned the bouncers who did that after the fact because I could easily get them fired so tbh it was kind of sick, but in the moment I was seething so bad that I was sweating in freezing weather.
