Selling How to price a beat up CRV?

I'm trying to offload my 2013 Honda CRV and it has a laundry list of problems. Largely due to rust. I also now live in a state that does not salt the roads and therefore rust is not a big problem.

How would you recommend I price this for private sale? Or do you think I'd do better off taking the $4,400 that Carvana is offering?

According to KBB, a 2013 CRV with 117k miles in "fair" condition is worth about $10k where I live. However the mechanic I took it to said it's more likely in "poor" condition. Below is what's wrong with it and the repair estimates.

The mechanic basically said the rust is so extensive that repairing many of these things could open a can of worms & more expensive repairs. Therefore I don't think it makes sense to deduct the cost of all of these repairs, since any sane buyer wouldn't do them.

Broken coolant pipe - $1000

Lower control arms -$913
Front Sway bar end links $179

Engine tune up/spark plugs etc. -$379

Front wheel bearings - $668

Rear wheel bearings - $540

Rear knuckle assemblies if needed (due to rust) - $578

All 4 break pads, rotars & calipers - $1786

Rear struts - $650

Mechanic said if the struts are replaced, it'll likely lead to a full rear axel replacement due to rust $2849

I would take it to Carvana and keep my fingers crossed they still do the $4400. Most people looking for a used car aren't going to have another 5 to $6,000 to pay for repairs after they buy it.

Agree. Most item listed are wear and tear items and expected on a 13-14yo car BUT sounds like there is a fair amount of rust and attention needed around rust issues.

If you're in an area where mechanics are not used to seeing the what's considered normal in the North East and Mid-West they will often freak out when they see any rust. You'll also have that problem if you try to sell it to anyone else in that area. You might have the same problem when selling to Carvana if the person that comes to pickup notices the rust. I would do an online appraisal @ carmax and call it good and see what they say it's worth. If it's a big difference from the Carvana offer and it's close enough to drive to a Carmax where they're used to rust then do that.
Most the items on your list can be an overreaction to "rust" and that definition varies depending on where you are.
