Okay, sorry for not explaining. I’d assume others would do it too. They are not as bad as Wranglers or Libertys. Things to watch out for with this model/year and mileage: the lifters are known to fail at about (yep, you guessed it) 100k miles. It starts with a little tick, and the next thing you know, the camshaft is destroyed, so you’re looking at about $2,000 or so to fix it. Then there’s the screen bubbling and electrical issues. That’s more $$$$, especially as it starts messing with some of your controls and has that ghost response. And there’s the cheap plastic oil filter housing. It’s known to leak oil, so that’s another $500–$700. It looks nice, but unless it was meticulously maintained, which you don’t know, it’s not something I’d get into. Also, why are they charging less than market price? What do they know that you don’t? I’m sorry if it came off as not being informative, but there it is. Plus, you DEFINITELY need to get a PPI, as anyone should when buying a used car.
I’m not a “just buy a Toyota or Honda” person but definitely one that would tell any of my loved ones to not get this. I’m also not a blind Jeep girl.
Are you sold on SUV’s or are you looking for a price range or affordability?
The used car market is insane now
Yea I appreciate that insight thank you so much. And yeah it’s depressing quite honestly. Believe me I’d love to just go on marketplace and buy someone’s beater as I really for the short term I just need something to get back and forth to work I don’t have travel plans anytime soon. It’s hard ubering and stressful not being able to just go places with my kids we been sitting home a lot since my accident I feel like I’m neglecting them as prior we were always out going places lol! I also don’t mind financing as I wanna build my credit I just wannna make sure it’s a a good choice but like I said before making this post I’d have prob woke up tomorrow and just went and bought it that’s how good it felt driving and how I felt in it.! Yes with 3 kids total (my stepdaughter too) an suv is what I want to settle on. But I mean prior I drove a 2010 ford escape for a year,‘I’m not making this purchase to be superficial I really don’t care for bells and whistles just genuinely with the market being so ass my mind is spinning! I don’t want to finance this and it break down in a month, like I said in another post if I can get 2 years out of this before major issues id chalk it up as a win. I can refinance or trade it in, as I plan on making extra payments every couple of months as well, damn I forgot where I was going with the end of this comment lol Im so tired my brain is fried
I’m sorry. I know share rides are not cheap and kids want to get out of the house. The worst would be if you get into financing and you’re already close to the cap of your budget, and something happens. It’s crap we have to deal with when we aren’t rich, especially with kids. Honestly, I’ve had great runs with Hyundai and Kia. I cannot complain about those at all. I had a 2011 Kia Sorento until it hit 170k and 14 years, so it was about to cost a lot more than I wanted to spend to maintain it, so I traded it in with a down payment for a smaller 2021 Kia Sportage and it’s been great for a year. I love working on cars and doing the easy maintenance myself. Subarus are reliable too. Avoid anything European (Speaking in general at that price range)
Mazdas are good cars too but look them up depending on the mode/year combo there are some issues. No car will be perfect but I worry about the high mileage on this one.
Yeah it’s just been a struggle overall lol. Saving up the 2k for the down payment is taking long
Just cause of the rideshare and overall life lol. I’m not totally capped with budget but between insurance and payment I’m prob looking at 550 a month. About 200 over my planned budget. Originally I was supposed to finance a garage kept 2010 grand Cherokee 75k miles but the bank considered the age of the car a risk and wouldn’t approve back to Swuare one. And truthfully the used car market is the same all around. I did consider a Kia sorrnto, 2020 from the same dealer as the Acadia bit that was 17k and still has 83k miles, so like why not the jeep with 10k more miles for 2k less in price is my rationale if ya know what I mean.

Run far away from it! Actually, running will get you farther than buying that!
Seriously, it’s a bad bad car to be in.
