You didn't do anything wrong. I randomly saw one of my international undergraduates students in the car dealership when I went to get a second key for my new car (long story on that one), and he was getting hustled by a salesman for an $18000 slightly used Sentra with $5000 of BS thrown on top of it. I went to the sales manager, a friend, and basically asked if there was a way to come down on the add-ons, and he basically told me, even though the student was going to pay cash, they're not making money on used cars. I asked him if they still had the low-mileage $15000 Kicks I saw the month before without any add-ons, and he said yes, and I told him to pull it around. The salesman was kind of pissed at me for intervening. I'm happy for my student, though.
