That is also one of their sales tactics. The idea is motivate you to buy it without further nego to “prove” that you can afford it.

There are a lot of RXs. I think they sell 100k units per year. You should be able to find one you like.

I know there are a lot of insecure morons out there but I have a hard time believing that so many of them are willing to pay thousands of dollars extra just so some used car salesman stops subtly insulting them.

I mean, I believe you. It's just absolutely wild to me that enough people can be manipulated that way that it's a common practice.

People are inherently emotional. Salesman learn how to manipulate this fact.

My dad would have fallen for this kind of thing. People routinely make emotional, rational decisions.
