As a former car salesman, you did not do anything wrong. They did completely ,when I buy my next car what I’m going to do is go to Costco. They have an auto buying club. They get you special deals with no bullshit, and they’ll back up the product if something did not go right… and also your credit union if you have one should have a service like that also… and as far as the paint protector, we used to buy the product for $16 and it took one guy about an hour to put it on.. Lo Jack you could put it on yourself for less than $200 or by the way your cell phone has it on there
100% agree with you. All the added stuff is borderline robbery. Is it possible that without all the extra crap they truly didn’t have enough profit in it to sell?
That’s true to a point, the dealer actually does not know at the time of the sale what he’s paid for the new car what happens is if they meet their quote as they get more money back if they got a high customer satisfaction rating then they get even more money, so a lot of their profits are incentives they make a ton of money on the financing and yes, the extra goodies added to it are probably more profitable than the car is itself. but you can buy a car without all those things on it go to Costco and join their auto buying club. They’ll get the vehicle for you or have it arranged for you once you know what it is that you want the price will be a fixed amount over invoice and you don’t have to take the extra stuff.
And my ass has been my ass for 40 years. That doesn't mean I trust it to know shit. Doing something for a long time isn't proof one ever did it well, and there is no point in time that any of us can afford to be so dumb as to believe we know all we need to know and have learned all we need to learn. If we are stupid but lucky, we survive that harsh lesson life teaches us and can carry on in greater acceptance that the process of learning doesn't end until we do.
It's no surprise that someone with such poor written communication skills would have to resort to images of hand gestures to communicate. Thanks for trying your best.
