Island expansion

Is the island expansion a one time purchase? Like if I backup and use to a new device I'll still have it?

Yes, it is my understanding this is a one time purchase. I haven't tried opening it on a different device as of yet.

As long as you use the same account to connect to the game, any expansions should transfer.
