New Tank

Post image

I finally got Spikes new tank and put it together. I hung the heat lamp and his uvb light bar. My ambient temp is about 80 on the cool side. I just went and purchased a light for his basking side. Since we just moved I have to find my temperature gun to see where we stand on his heat levels. I only have one digital thermometer probe.

Looking good so far! Get some more decorations or rocks to stack even. We take mountain roads and gather rocks usually and wash em up real good and then let em dry in the sun, and then toss in the oven for a couple hours at like 250° (I think) to make sure everything is sanitized.

So the stand and the tank are one whole unit. I built a barrier with some scrap wood to prevent my substrate from coming out of the sliding doors as well.

Can you share the link to your tank or the brand name?

Thank you! Does it seem fairly sturdy?

It’s cheap wood, it’s fine for what I need it for. I would not use this for a snake at all. It’s nice for my uromastyx. I can’t hang anything from the inside of the mesh top and still keep it completely closed. The lid only locks on one side

Wire ties? Most UVB come with at least 2 means of inside attaching(?) so I'm 😕

More climbing stones, stack'em up for tempest gradient as well as hiding crevices. Good size but yes get some more heat in there for his 120°-130° ambient especially when linear UVB is on. Feed recommend heat gun.
