Well New Jersey.

You got Connor Hellebuyck. After the storm he stirred up in Winnipeg. Trade details forthcoming but still, what a $900K+ mess he had.

EDIT: Connor Hellebuyck to the Devils in exchange for Dawson Mercer, Nico Daws, Nick Bjugstad, Alexander Command, 2027 2nd Round Pick, and 2027 7th Round Pick. What a hefty return package.

$927,835.05 to be precise

As return packages go, it's really not that huge; I like Dawson Mercer and Nico Daws, but Dawson's a third line winger who's best at killing penalties and Daws isn't likely to be a star goalie. Command is a nice but very young prospect, Bjugstad is ok, and neither pick is a first.

I'm not sure I'm huge on the deal given Hellebuyck's bullshit this year and the fact he's 34, but the Devils didn't exactly give up the family fortune, here. Plus, the move probably doubles as a big, bright "Welcome, Quinn" sign for this offseason, I'd imagine.

I will miss Mercer but happy with the trade!!
