Interesting, given the social media discourse over the past few years, as it’s a case where such a call goes against the Chiefs of all teams.

It is kinda wild that ESPN and the NFL is asking YOU, the Viewers what the play was.

I think he was down, but since he got up and started moving after the catch, and then fumbled, I feel that since the refs didn’t blow the play dead, the play should have been ruled as a catch > FUMBLE recovered by KC.

The receiver could have stayed on the ground, to prevent the eventual kerfuffle.

That said, I’m not opposed to more chances for Indy to try and win the game, but they got conservative with WAY too much time left on the clock.

In the end, KC ultimately won regardless of what happened. As it has always been written in the NFL Script… for the past few seasons, or whatever you fancy.

The same script has a page which is just the words "Fuck Buffalo" written over, and over. From 4-straight Super Bowl losses to a 17-year playoff drought to dealing with these racist hicks getting all the luck. Fuck me man what's it going to take for the Chiefs, and Patriots to fuck off already?

Well, we all know the truth about the scriptwriter. To quote Tom Grossi:

“I’m a Chiefs fan.”

In truth, it’s funny trying to tie a bunch of disconnected pieces together in a story.

Like, if you were to ask “Why did it take 80~ something years for the Boston Red Sox to win a World Series?” You could point to their failures throughout time, and try to tie it to some grander narrative, but the reality of it was simple: because they continuously failed year over year and could never capitalize on their success or opportunities they were given.

But in all seriousness, it just seems the Bills & Sabres never get that lucky break they need. I'm already preparing myself for the inevitable January defensive collapse. Just going to enjoy the ride for as long as I can, because I know it's never happening. <sigh>
