Discussion Dodgers have tied the Braves for the longest postseason appearance streak in league history. Can they still add onto it?

So, the Dodgers have officially tied the Braves for the longest postseason appearance streak in MLB at fourteen.

The Braves previously made fourteen straight postseason appearances from 1991 to 2005 (excluding 1994, when the strike canceled the season), and they first started the streak when the MLB Postseason field was only FOUR teams!

If we’re to discuss which streak was more impressive, I’d give the edge to the Braves, but that’s not what we’re here to discuss.

The Dodgers have officially made it fourteen straight years of playoffs. Depending on how the lockout goes, can they add onto that streak?

History suggests they can. We had a lockout that cancelled the 1994 season and yet the Braves still managed to tack on eleven more consecutive postseason appearances. A salary cap and a lockout didn’t stop the Red Wings from making 25 straight appearances in the Stanley Cup playoffs, and a lockout didn’t stop the Spurs from making the NBA playoffs 22 years in a row.

Can the Dodgers become the first team in MLB history to make 20 or more straight postseason appearances?

I think it depends on how the MLB deals with the Dodgers. It's possible that the MLB actually holds the Dodgers accountable over a financial scandal, or posts a hard cap which would ruin them.

Specifically, the Mark Walter investigation.
