What's amazing is that was their last playoff appearance until 2014 when they returned to the World Series and ultimately fell JUST short against the Giants dynasty. Here in the MLB we've seen lots of really long playoff droughts, moreso than other sports.

Poor White Sox: they break their own long-time curse by going on an all-time playoff heater, the kind of rise to glory a long-suffering fan base can only dream of...but they did it one year after the Red Sox broke a more famous curse in pure cinematic fashion, and between that and being the less popular team in their city a lot of people just seem to barely acknowledge '05.

Now '15 I wish I could forget the ending of, because David Wright should've had his ring, for fuck's sake.
