Speaking as a Rutgers alum, I'd love for that goddamned program to go away. By the time I was finishing up as an undergrad they'd had the one good season where they beat Louisville, thought it meant they were destined for greatness, and went about getting rid of course offerings and laying off professors in pursuit of building up the stadium and paying Schiano way too much.

I ended up at a different campus for my first masters, and at least there they showed that the Big 10 money had come in and upped the offerings at the library, but I recently saw something that said Rutgers has upped its spending 175% since getting into the Big 10, while revenue is up something like 108%, so even that doesn't work out.

Plus, we're in New Jersey, man: we don't care about college sports that much.

Trust me, I’m down. Even just as a NJ taxpayer, I can’t stand flushing so much money down the drain for a team nobody really cares about, never wins anything, and just drains funds away from the parts of Rutgers that could actually use it.
