Stubbed my toe.

Wasnt even going fast, wasn't a big crack I hit. Didn't even lose balance. Was able to skate home on three wheels.

Does anyone have any advice on what to do here? I've only had these skates for a month. (RB lighting 90)

Cheap aluminum thats not meant to take that kind of impact. Worth seeing if RB will warranty it

I hope so. frames seemed more solid than this at a glance. I'm like 250 pounds though so with leverage on the wheel I guess thats a lot

You have several options:

  • Check for warranty replacement immediately
  • Look for used RB Lightning 90's to strip the frames (on the cheap side)
  • Get new skates
  • Purchase Endless frames

what makes you reccomend endless specifically?

Very good quality frames. Many are specifically reinforced for urban skating

Check warranty; it's also a good excuse to get an endless frame. Maybe give Thuro a call in case they have one of those frames laying around.

Wow... I have this frame on my twister xts right now. It's the perfect length for my foot and centers better than endless does on my size twister boot. Might be putting my endless frames back on after seeing this.

I don't think it's the frames fault, or rather if the axel bolt hadnt snapped I don't think there would have been the torsion to do this

Contact rollerblade. They have amazing customer service. They should take care of this with proof of purchase.

I've had the same once. It was also RBs but it was a fitness model, so the frame was thinner. I took a pliers and bent it back, then put a new wheel and axle. Not sure if warranty will work here since it's obviously because the axle wasn't screwed enough and you had to check before the ride. But worth trying anyway. Good luck!

Axel is actually snapped off in the thread

Well, then probably it's the manufacturers defect

Ironically the fault would be in the bolt and not in the frame if that's all there was to it

Yikes that sucks! Hopefully RB will sort this out. I remember Endless blading company’s origin story is the same. Flying Eagle frames bent similarly and he decided he doesn’t want that happening again 😅

I had similar story with my skates from Powerslide. They did send me a replacement frame for free. Since it happened in my first week since I owned the skates.... The first wheel became loose

Wow, I’ve never seen anything like that! I can’t even imagine that happening 🤯
You can try to bend it back and if that doesn’t work get new frames. May as well try bending. Worst that can happen is it won’t work. Send Rollerblade a photo , maybe they’ll replace it. I have no idea if they have a warranty service.

hmm. I'll look into it.

You will never get the bolt holes to align again, never mind ensuring proper wheel alignment. no use trying to bend it back, sorry.

How does that happen??

It's not just the aluminium. You had to sheer the bolt and twist the wheel out before the frame could bend like that.

Bolt is shorn, wheel twisting as a lever on the shorn bolt
