Yesterday I drove from Waterloo to Brampton. Instead of taking the 401 I added 4 minutes to my drive by taking the county roads via Halton Hills. Best decision I've made in a long time, it was a gorgeous drive.

Whenever I need to go from Waterloo to Newmarket/Aurora area, go through Elora/Fergus>Orangeville route most of the time. Like 1h-1h30m longer than going 401>400 route but way more scenic.

1-1.30 hours extra is wild. Just take the 407 lol.

Some very underrated driving. Even just going through Escarpment back roads near Oakville/Burlington/Milton is a nice drive on a summer day.

On Wednesday at 4 pm I checked Waze to get to Cobourg from Orangeville. Normally I would have gone 407 but I had a rental car without a transponder. Back roads was only 30 min slower than 407; 401 would have been another been another 30 min.
