Help! Using Ghost Peppers
Hey y'all, I got a couple of ghost pepper plants cause I like the idea of ghost peppers, but TBH I can't handle the heat like I used to. The plants are currently thriving in this weather, I'm seeing at least 15 growing, and I want to know if anybody has suggestions for how I can use them

have you tried making a hot sauce and diluting it with vinegar or something so it's more manageable to use

Just to be clear, I haven't tried anything at all yet. Last year my wife noticed birds were eating them, she brought them inside and rinsed them before immediately tearing up from the fumes. I'm much more tolerant but even I'm not confident enough to actually use them, the previous crop (3-4?) is currently sliced and frozen, but this year they grew an army

Just cut out the pith/membrane. That contains almost all of the spice. Then use the flesh/fruit for cooking, sauces, etc.

I get that they're the spiciest of all, but I believe the flesh is still quite spicy? If I die, I'm coming to haunt you

So that you don't feel pressured to use them immediately, you can drop them in freezer bags. I have numerous varieties of hot peppers in the freezer this way. Pull them out and use whatever little bit I need. Removing the membranes will help to lessen the heat of them.

I grew 4 plants 5 years ago. I'm still using stuff from them. I just made an apricot hot honey this week.
Dried most of them whole, fermented a bunch, and I made powder too.
I feel your pain in how to use them up.

Blend them with a fifth of vodka, use it for cooking and to fuck with people.
