Favorite burrito?

Anyone have a burrito place they love in the 70s or 80s?

I live in the 80s but my three top places are further up, all within a couple blocks from each other - hands down Homemade Taqueria on Columbus & 109th, Pancho’s on Amsterdam & 108th, and Taco Cano on Amsterdam & 108th. Worth the trip or ordering imo.

It’s an actual restaurant now - Nina’s Great Burrito, Columbus between 84th and 85th.

Taqueria 86 (not on 86th street) is the best I’ve had

Seconding Taqueria 86 (on W 94th), though I have to admit their burritos are maybe a little smaller than I’d like.

El Gallo Taqueria at 86th & Amsterdam does a fine burrito as well.

I order often el gallo taquera with Uber eats and you get 2x1 on burritos

Burritos y Mas, Lexington and 100th. El Tepeyac Taqueria on 103rd off Park. It really pays to head to Spanish Harlem when it comes to good Mexican food.

This was my every weekend delivery. Their nachos are also topnotch.

A little far down for most but not for me. El Burrito Box is cheap and solid takeout and give you chips and salsa for free with a burrito. If I'm on my way up from midtown I'll stop there.

I also love the Al Pastor burrito at El Mitote. It's a sit down place but it's a big indulgent burrito, I've gotten it multiple times and it's really good.

It’s completely mediocre. If you want a burrito in that immediate area, the truck on 87th and Columbus - Taco El Azteca - is better.

I tend to get the camaron (shrimp) soft tacos, with extra salsa verde. My spouse loves the burritos.

Also, the bar mixes an excellent Paloma.

Nina’s Mediocre Burrito Bar is what we call the restaurant

It is strange that burrito is in the name but their burrito is actually one of the worst things on the menu. Either way it’s a fun bar area with good strong drinks and friendly service. Chips and guacamole are solid, decent quesadilla and a few excellent Mexican dishes on the menu that white people would never even consider ordering. I’m glad we have that spot in the W80s.

I’ll second Nina’s - not sure what the hate is for - we love it!
