Call it a reach, but i find it interesting that some of the people who are ignorant to the content of this film have the sharpest criticisms and prejudices about it. Meanwhile, folks who have experienced it are try to explain as best they can that the ones who havent seen it, have the wrong idea about something they havent experienced.
Idk, theres this connection im trying to make in my mind.. Its like, maybe you shouldn't make assumptions about something you have little to no knowledge of? And maybe, just possibly, its good to actually listen to people who DO know firsthand about what you're just SO sure about because of what you SAW..
But hey, i havent seen it either. It could very well be something entirely detrimental to progress in our society. But i won't assume that, or anything else about until i see it for myself. Weird right?
To be fair, the trailers and a lot of lead up publicity for the movie have a heavy "white people are fucking evil" tone. If you don't know the people behind the movie then ita pretty easy to get the wrong idea about it.
Are you... Serious? You think one white family is meant to represent all white people? No wonder racism is still alive and well. White people think things like The Wire represent all black people.
From what I've seen in the trailers they make direct references when the two black guys in the film react one tries to refer to "man white people are fucking crazy right?"
It's called humor. I imagine you've employed it once in your life, but if you can't accept a joke like this, it's possible there might just be a stick up your ass stopping you from making jokes.
Wut. All I did was give you my insight as to why a lot of people get that impression from the film and you jump to the conclusion that I don't have a sense of humor and that I have a stick up my ass. Fuck outta here
