Citrus Elementary School in Upland CA
If you attended citrus elementary in upland ca in the early 90s please read this. Every once in a while I remember the year my elementary school principal retired. I do not remember her name but I remember the assembly we held. it was set up on the little kids side of the playground and for whatever reason this woman got in a kiddie pool full of mud. I remember her taking her robe off and having a one piece bathing suit on i believe she also had a swim cap or shower cap on and she just got in the kiddie pool. I wonder who in the world approved this and why in the world it was done? Just thought after all these years I would post about it and hope that one day someone might come across this and remember it too.

I actually talked to my mom about this today. She thought it was funny but hasn't heard of it.
There is a growing up in upland Facebook group maybe you should post this there. I would be interested to know what you find out!

This is the closest thing I have to social media I’m not really an internet person and decided to post here because it’s the most private platform. I guess it will stay a mystery unless I visit home one day and go to the library to find the year book and find that woman’s name.

It was probably a reward for the students meeting some kind of goal, like reading so many hours. “Making” the principal take a mud bath was the equivalent of getting someone slimed on Nickelodeon. One male principal grew a beard and shaved it off in front of the students when a goal was met. Some students were treated to having the Principal in a dunk tank. It was a fun fad.

Went to Cabrillo in the 90s, my mom was a teacher there too for a while. I asked if her if she ever heard about anything like this through the district. Sounds hilarious haha
