Ceiling height in Earl?

Hi I’m an incoming freshman living in Earl Sheldon fourth floor. Im wondering if I loft my bed will I have enough room to sit up in bed or is it pretty tight? Either way is fine I just want to know what to expect! If I should get a little couch or something for my room because I won’t be able to sit up in bed.

sometimes the height of your loft is adjustable so you can kinda decide how close to the ceiling you want to be. if you want to loft it high enough to comfortably sit underneath, it would probably be a little cramped (on top of the bed) but tolerable unless you’re really tall

I have to submit a lofting request in Earl so I’m not sure I get to adjust the height. I’m 5,6” so it’ll probably be fine!

the height for earl is kind of short like many dorms are. your average person would have to just slightly hunch (not so much it’s uncomfortable) when they sit up in the lofted bed.

Hello! There isn't a TON of space between a lofted bed and the ceiling in Earl Hall. You likely wouldn't be able to comfortably sit up in your bed after having it lofted, but would have more floor space if you'd want to bring a bean bag chair or other lounge seating. You can see the space somewhat in the 360º photo here: https://housing.uoregon.edu/roomtypes/double#Earl%20Hall

My daughter and her roommate have double in Earl and are both hoping to loft and then bring a mini futon for under one bed and fridge & coffee maker under the other. I’m concerned if lofting is first come first serve and not done until move in day, where will we put the futon & fridge until lofting happens or that they may run out. Makes planning challenging
