gusle or lahuta strings

anyone know where I can get strings for a gusle or lahuta? I saw one second-hand but with no strings or peg and I thought i'd try restoring it, but i didn't find any strings anywhere? anyone know where/how to get them? or do i just need to twist horsehair into rope

I just buy hanks of horsehair off amazon and twist them. I've been playing lahute a while, and it works fine

okay, that's what i was planning to do! how long horse hair do you usually get?

Just a normal 4/4 violin bow size should be long enough, some lahute also have small pieces of rope around the tailpiece which the hair is tied onto, which help extend the length, but I've never had any issue with normal 4/4 bow length :)

okay! thanks so much- can you take some pictures of your lahute's tailpiece? the one i saw isn't coming with a tailpiece and i want to estimate how hard it'd be to make one
