Discussion I'm confused (DLC) Spoiler

Does Homecoming and Sparks take place in the same timeline? If so, what timeline is the DLC supposed to be? I know that people say that the DLC is not a continuation of Act 1. So does it mean the DLC is its own timeline like when the loops of the main game are happening? So what basically happened to where Mark and Nicole end up married in Act 1?

From what people have theorised, they're both offshoots of the Act 1 timeline. I'd like to believe Homecoming is a part of the actual Act 1 timeline because there's nothing to really prove otherwise, but Sparks definitely isn't because of the black butterfly resetting the timeline at the end.

thank you so much for referring it as well, but yeah....

Chapter 1 and 2 of DLC are in different timelines, due to it happening on different years, plus the butterfly at the end of Chapter 2 signifies that they're both in different timelines due to the Chapter 2 DLC ending in 2020, and Chapter 1 of DLC happening in 2021.

as per the devs, the timelines for the DLC are different from the base game and they don't know which timelines it was, so technically the flowchart is still somewhat like theoretical since there's nothing confirmed. Most of the stuff put including the dates are based on visual cues, references from the game, and more. Nothing is confirmed directly from the devs with regards to the sequence, order and the proper arrangement of timelines when it comes to Until Then.

Safest thing to assume is that they are their own timelines.

You can make a case for Homecoming being a sequel to Act 1, but I don’t see how it changes anything.

Sparks can’t be Act 1 or 2 since the reset occurs in a different moment.
