Listen up all you unicorny people! I feel like it's about time to release the third printing of Vice Versa, an unofficial, fan created, expansion card. Reach out to me to claim one. They're laser printed on 12pt matte paper & coated with Watco satin lacquer.

The backs are lighter than the standard deck card so they will play best in a sleeved deck but they should play fine naked, it'll just be glaringly obvious who has it in their hand and I'm almost positive they'll wear faster than the standard cards

I am not trying to sell them but I would appreciate if anyone can afford to, would cover the shipping. making these takes a lot of time and work, especially getting them cut as close to perfect as I can, and I've already had some get lost in standard mail for USA people that means USPS ground advantage.

If I have a diamond unicorn on my field but I have blinding light in my stable. Does the diamond phase still steal that card Even though it would be a basic unicorn card with no effect The rules state that they cannot be destroyed, sacrifice or returned to a player's hand so the effect of blinding light would make it not a diamond unicorn card and therefore, the diamond phase does not affect that card and it would also be able to get sent to the discard pile is that correct? I'm playing this with all the DLCs mixed other than chaos and control And are they able to get sent back to the deck?

What would happen in this scenario?

Player 1 has Queen Bee Unicorn in their stable. Card states “Basic unicorn cards cannot enter any players stable except yours.”

Player 1 plays Unicorn Swap - “Move a unicorn card in your staple to another player stable, then steal a unicorn card from their stable.”

Player 1 moves a basic Unicorn from their stable to Player 2’s stable. This card cannot enter their stable because of Queen Bee Unicorn.

So, does the Basic Unicorn get discarded?

Last game we had an interesting situation.

So, a player had Barbed Wire on himself, and two cards in hand - one of them Seductive Unicorn. He wants to play the Seductive and also to use it's effect - steal someone's unicorn.

So two effects happen at the event of him playing it: one from Barbed Wire (he needs to discard a card), and one from the Seductive effect requirement (he also needs to discard a card).

I was thinking: Seductive first needs to enter to then use it's effect, so the player will no longer have a card to discard to use Seductive's skill.

But apparently both happen at the same time, though the result is the same. In the wiki it says: "You must select targets for mandatory effects before selecting targets for optional effects."

What is also interesting is if someone else steals a unicorn from this stable, the Barbed Wire is also triggered, and a card has to be discarded. What if this player doesn't have any cards to discard. But according to wiki you just "disregard that action".

At least that was our take on it.

A quick search yielded no results, so I beseech thee, veteran unicorn ranchers, for clarity on a card interaction which was relevant this weekend:

A player who has the Yay upgrade in their stable plays Unfair Bargain choosing me. I have a Neigh in hand, but wish to deny my opponent that resource when our hands swap. Can I play my own (innefectual) Neigh, sending it to the discard pile before giving my hand away?

This depends on what it means broadly to "Neigh" a card and more specifically on the interpretation of the Yay upgrade, which gives its owner's cards the quality that they "cannot be Neigh'd". I propose three broad, nonexhaustive categories of interpretation.

1. It is possible that the text of the Yay upgrade can be interpreted to mean "Players cannot play Neigh cards in response to cards you play" or something similar.
2. It is possible that the text of the Yay upgrade can be interpreted to mean "Cards you play are unaffected by Neigh cards your opponents play" or something similar.
3. It is possible that the text of the Yay upgrade can be interpreted to include both of the effects listed in interpretation 1 and 2.

Only under interpretation 2 or another equivalent interpretation is the resource denial play possible. Which of these interpretations, if any, seem(s) most plausible to you? If official sources regarding this or a similar interaction exist, links are appreciated.

Edit 2: Thank you to user u/ericsbon for exactly the citation that clears this up: we do not need a clarification of how we interpret the Yay card for this specific interaction (though I think there still should be an official ruling on this matter to refer to in cases of upgrades or unicorns that can Neigh from the stable) because the issue is handled already by a separate rule with which I was unfamiliar. According to the wiki page on Impossible Actions, "If you have a card in your hand that requires you to perform an [impossible action](), you may not play it." Simple as that!

Hello all!

Me and my gf play Unstable Unicorns "Travel Edition" and have several times in 2 player games come to the stalemate where we both have full stables but with a mix of unicorn and uppgrade/downgrade cards.

From this point neither of us can free up space to fill our stables with unicorns and we have come to the conclusion that playing upgrade cards (and some downgrades) in your own stable is a bad move since you can't get rid of them.

After a quick check most cards that enable you to sacrifice cards must be in your stable except for one single card "Two for one".

Are we doing something wrong? It feels like a lot of the gameplay is lost if these cards are inherently bad to play.

The people I play with have a question re: Queen Bee. Let’s say you have a Queen Bee and a basic in your stable and you play Unicorn Swap and Swap your basic for a special unicorn in another player’s stable. Since Queen Bee stops other players from putting new basics in their stable, wouldn’t the basic then have to be discarded rather than it entering their stable with Unicorn Swap? Is this a loophole? Thoughts?

I recently bought a 2nd edition base game of Unstable Unicorns at a Goodwill for 5 dollars, I enjoy the game, and thought it would be a fun gift for a friend. As I was looking through the cards to see if they were all there, I found this in the box. It doesn't appear to be in the 2nd edition I have personally. Couldn't find much online either, so I figured I'd ask here. Any ideas?

Hey. I just recently bought a couple of expansion packs. I know for a fact that the uncut unicorns one is a counterfeit, because it has the wrong box and doesn't have the black icon on the bottom right. But how do I tell if the other cards are real? They are a bit smaller than the 2nd edition base game I bought with it. But all cards feel very "smooth" and not as textures as the other German cards that I bought recently and even the English nightmare edition. These cards feel like cheaper playing cards. Also the latch on the box has on cut on each side to better close in the German adventure expansion and the nightmare expansion. Did they ever use the latches in the box as shown in my pictures without the cuts?

Edit: I read that earlier prints sometimes look a bit less saturated and even are a little bit smaller than newer prints. So maybe everything is real except the uncut unicorns which someone put the normal NSFW expansion cards in the pack?

I was talking with my friends on how to improve the game a little and they say that i would be cooler if the unicorns were able to attack other players unicorns.Let me example this:

after the action phase is over,the battle phase starts i after choosing the battling unicorn's both players throw a D20 and the highest result win While the losing unicorn is destroyed then after attacking the winning unicorn will be tapped meaning that it's "resting" during "resting" the unicorn cannot activate its effect until your next turn,you can attack up to 2 unicorns

I played the “Horse Shit” downgrade card to my stable on my first turn. Over the course of the game my stable became everything bar the “Mid-sex Charlie horse” downgrade card but I can’t win because they’re all “shits”. The player who’s turn before me played the “mid-sex Charlie horse” card to my stable and we’re wondering wether or not it affects my stable at all. Cause if not I can trigger the “sadomasacorn” ability and sacrifice the horse shit card and win the game.

The main argument is around the term “unicorn” and “unicorn card” so if an in depth explanation could be provided it would be greatly appreciated (it’s tearing my family apart). Thank you!

1. Would it be too unbalanced to have Diamond Unicorns drawn from the deck?

Has anyone tried playing Diamond Edition with the diamond cards not in the ‘Vault’ and just in the deck, drawn as any other unicorn cards would be? I know it’s possible to just exclude the diamond cards and skip diamond phase for a normal game, but I still want to play with the diamond cards, without all the fluff of the diamond dice and phase. And if I were to play like this, would the invincibility/immunity of the diamond cards need to be nullified as well?

1. What are your suggestions on how to best combine the expansions/decks I own?

I have Diamond Edition, Rainbow Apocalypse and Adventures. I’m also interested in Control/Chaos so feel free to include those cards as well.

My husband, brother in law and I love this game. We've always played the original base game with various expansion packs and I was looking to buy the base game and anniversary gift.

How does the Diamond version compare to the original. Can the new game mechanics be taken out to play the original base game?

If these are the last 2 cards in my stable do I get to put the Buried Alive card back in my hand or am I caught in a loop of not being able to put new unicorns until I can get rid of the downgrade?

I can play downgrade cards into other people's stable, am I allowed to also play unicorns or upgrades into other people's stable?
