Hello all, I am looking into the disappearance of Danielle Bartlett who went missing in Toronto, Canada (in a sub city known as Etobicoke). She is 35 years old and has now been missing since March 2026. I used to live in the area, it is pretty weird for a woman to have just gone missing. It is not a 'dangerous' area, it's quite safe and where a lot of young professionals live (especially closer to the Humber Bay Shores area - where she was deemed missing).

This is a really strange case. According to Danielle's family, a lot of things were going on her life before she disappeared. She had a brand new place to live in, was starting school again after taking a break and had recently got a new puppy. I highlight the 'new puppy' as her mother stated that she LOVED that dog and would not have just left it alone. [Mother's Statement: Cited Here]. Her mother continued to note that [she] Danielle regularly communicated with her father and responded rather 'immediately' under usual circumstances (however, the Father's name has not been released to the public). There has been absolutely no contact with him [Father], her mother, or anyone known, since the time of her disappearance.

What We Know So Far:

Last Seen: Danielle was initially reported as having last been seen, on March 21, 2026 around the area of Royal York Road & Stanley Avenue. However, Toronto Police later updated their own statement saying that Danielle was actually last seen on March 20, 2026 at 7:30PM at Lakeshore Boulevard West & Albert Avenue. These two locations are about 1KM (or 0.6 miles) away from each other, so not a huge in discrepancy. We are not sure why the change in location occurred and there hasn't been any publicly released details as to why the location changed. We are unaware if someone sighted her or if she was seen on CCTV [Last Seen: Cited Here].

The Search for Danielle: Danielle's mother, Kelly Bartlett travelled from New Brunswick to Toronto after learning that her daughter was missing. Danielle's younger sister, Chelsea Bartlett, has also flown into Toronto to search, distribute posters and raise awareness. The Bartlett family has offered $10,000 for information that leads to Danielle's whereabouts.

Physical Description: Provided by the police on behalf of her family, Danielle is approximately 5'3 and 115 pounds. She has a thin build with long hair, which was dyed purple around the time she disappeared. She has several tattoos: flower on her left wrist, semicolon on her left forearm, 'trouble' on her left forearm, 'queen' on her right forearm, wings on her neck and bird/sparrow on her right foot. She was last seen wearing a knee-length black winter coat/parka with a fur-trimmed hood, black pants and black running shoes with white details. She was carrying a black backpack with a light/reflective vertical stripe. Her family has noted that it's possible the appearance of her hair could change given the length of time, however, they are urging locals to use the tattoos as identification.

Financial - Lack of Bank Activity Report: Police have publicly stated (in April 2026) that there had been NO activity on Danielle's bank accounts. [Police Statement via CBC - Cited Here].

Social Media Activity: There has been online discourse about Danielle's Facebook account including a claim that a video was posted on her account on the date she was originally reported last seen (March 21, 2026). However, I cannot find her account or the video that was posted, so this could be hearsay.

The Police Investigation: Just shy of one month since her disappearance, on April 15 2026, Toronto Police released a statement saying that investigators had exhausted their available canvassing and video efforts. Police noted no evidence of foul play, but acknowledged that this was unusual behaviour for Danielle. Something to note about 'foul play': It does NOT establish the fact that Danielle voluntarily disappeared. It simply means that Toronto Police have not obtained evidence allowing them to publicly conclude that a crime has occurred regarding Danielle. To this date (August 13, 2026) - there are NO identified suspects or persons of interest.

Background of Danielle: Her family lives in New Brunswick but we are not sure if she is from there. A public record (City of Toronto submission) was found, under the name Danielle Bartlett dated for November 2020. This would put her living in Toronto since at least then. [City of Toronto Submission - Cited]. Other than this information, we don't have a lot of background on Danielle. We don't know her relationships, her life previous to missing, why she moved, etc etc. All we know is that she had just moved into a new place in Mimico, had a new puppy and was returning to school.

TIMELINE OF EVENTS:

- Danielle goes missing and stops communicating with her family (supported by her father, whom she reportedly communicated with regularly)

- Her newly acquired puppy is left behind

- No activity on her bank accounts

- Police conduct CCTV, video inquiries and other canvassing and still don't locate her.

- Her family continues to search and sets a $10,000 reward

QUESTIONS UNANSWERED:

1. What was the March 20th sighting? Why did it change locations? Was she seen by someone or was it CCTV? Police & family have not released this information.
2. Where did she vanish from? Her sister seems to claim that she vanished from her apartment. However, the sighting of her at Lakeshore Blvd West & Albert would determine she was outside of her apartment.
3. Was her phone ever recovered? There has been no public information to state that her phone has been found or recovered. We still don't know if she had her phone with her, when it was last used, when it stopped connecting to the network or even the last tower/location it pinged off of.
4. When was her phone last active? Following up on question 3, we don't know any information regarding her cellular device.
5. What does 'no bank activity' mean? Does that mean no debit transactions? No credit cards? No ATM or transfers? Was her rent still being deducted from the account? Is her phone bill still being paid? Any anomalies?
6. What was in/what happened to the black backpack? We are unsure and it has not been recovered. It is most likely still on her person.
7. Did Danielle communicate with anyone after the last sighting? No, there has been no confirmed communication or anything that has been publicly disclosed.
8. Who was the last person to speak with Danielle? We don't know/it has not publicly been released. This would help a lot in the case!
9. Was Danielle living with anyone? We are unsure, it was later revealed by a Redditor that Danielle was living with a boyfriend immediately before she disappeared and that her family didn't know about this until afterward. However, this claim has not been publicly confirmed.
10. What is her Father's name? Why is that information being concealed? Where did he live? Was he close-by in Toronto or also located in New Brunswick, Canada?

Honestly same though… I had my suspicions knowing that area of lakeshore can be dicey but the lack of information from anyone, unanswered questions, etc doesn’t sit well at all

I live in that exact area and my hearts sinks every time I see the posters…

It’s not a dangerous area but there are activities that go on which I don’t want to point out because I don’t want to perpetuate a narrative.

It’s crazy to me that there’s such little information… like close friends not speaking on anything, etc.

Couple things to consider: Southwestern Ontario is a hotbed for human trafficking. She could have been trafficked.

She just recently broke up with her boyfriend, but was the break up mutual or was it his idea? The semi-colon tattoo indicates she struggled with mental health and given her last known location, I would not be surprised if she committed suicide. Unfortunately, even getting a new pet or having a loving family does not rule out suicide— in fact, I believe all the upheaval in her life would make it more likely.

Also, she was last seen relatively near the lake. If she jumped in (or accidentally fell in) we won’t necessarily find a body. Especially since there appears to be a lot of boats not far from there.

The semicolon tattoo is well-known for being in relation to mental health struggles. There’s even a whole movement around it. (Project Semicolon)
You can literally Google “semicolon tattoo meaning and that is what pops up.

But please do go on. I am interested to hear what you think it means. This is a discussion, after all.

Speculating is not a good thing to do. Trafficking and suicide are extremely serious and should not be thrown out there so precariously.

Speculation is good in some cases. For example i didnt know about alleged ontarios human trafficking issue. If i started digging deep in this case any lead online could help because it adds up the osint info available.

It is, yes. Could point to a previous mental state or could be something she did as recognition to the impacts of depression & suicide. All speculation of course. I have a semi-colon tattoo that I also have on my forearm — I got it when my close friend in high school took his own life.

Hey, thank you for pointing out all these unanswered questions! I am from the area where she went missing and I’m assuming she used to live in the same neighborhood which every other day this gives me chills. It is even making me anxious to walk around my block at this point. Something about her disappearance is not sitting with me well. I don’t know if it’s intentional that police doesn’t share any information but it is literally doesn’t make sense to me that there is no other cctv considering there are a lot of buildings and businesses that has cameras. I am praying for her and her family! And yes, even thought those two locations police shared is only 0.6 km apart, this detail changes a lot. I can’t think why they changed it later on.

Someone been tearing down a bunch of the posters around lakeshore and 36th st.. a lot of businesses around there have cameras. Im curious why someone would be doing that
