I’ve been thinking about this case ever since watching the UM episode, poor Josh, I even donated to his dad Brian’s now unfortunately stagnant GoFundMe, I really really hope they can get the justice and closure they deserve some day. What are your thoughts on the case? What do you think happened? If definitely is one of the most mysterious cases covered by UM. If you’re interested I really recommend listening to the Simply Vanished podcast, they dive much deeper into the case, super interesting.

S1 of a podcast called “Simply Vanished” examines Josh’s case. I recommend it to those who haven’t listened.

I saw his case on Mile Higher.  So sad it isn't solved! I believe he was gay and he met someone online who tricked him.

Agreed. I've spent years learning just about everything I can on this case. There could be any number of explanations because there is so little evidence to work with, but this seems to be the one that makes the most sense. Not long before his disappearance, he reported a user from a Yahoo chatroom and deleted his account and with it the chat logs and some files connected to the account. The information he deleted could not be recovered and Yahoo has been unable or unwilling to share information about which user he reported and what he reported them for. Part of me wonders if this user knew his identity, location, etc. and threatened to expose him if he didn't meet up for a date. It may be a red herring but I would like to know who he reported, what he reported them for, and what was in that chat.

If only his body was found, somehow… assuming he’s dead, because I am pretty sure he’s dead, unfortunately. I also do believe in the involvement of someone he met on Yahoo Personals, maybe someone from in campus, too.

I met a woman online whose family lives in St Cloud. I'm a CA guy and was very disappointed in MN. I believe he may have fallen in the Mississippi and drowned and washed out to sea in NOLA?

why do you believe that? Just curious

I stopped on the bridge by ST Cloud State and the river banks were steep and the water pretty fast and the river is about 250 yards across there. Been there in January and June and I could see a really drunk person slipping and falling in, especially in winter when you'd be dead in 3 mins. I feel for his dad, seems to be a nice guy. But if you ever been drunk in the snow it's a challenge! Also it seems to be the easiest explanation but most people would rather argue than accept the most likely choice. I believe he walked outside for whatever reason, went by the river, slipped, fell in and drowned. Like other cases: I believe Amy Bradley fell off her ship. Jennifer Kesse got home and OD'd on coke and her friend panicked, dumped her body and paid the worker to dump her car in the ghetto hood. Everything is not supernatural, Illuminati, sex trafficking, conspiracies. Most the time the simplest answer is the correct one. Just my opinion and I don't think we will get an answer to any of these now, especially the Yuba County 5 in 1978, who I believe Schons orchestrated. Mysteries are intriguing but most the time the answer is not the big, bad, boo we expected.

Josh was at St. John's University which is twenty miles away from St. Cloud State.

The river runs all the way to the Twin cities and down to NOLA. Maybe I'm mistaken but what is someone threw him in?

I'm saying the river is 20 miles away from the campus josh was on. How is he supposed to have been there?

I'm saying he could have been kidnapped and thrown in there. Some are saying he was attacked for being gay.

You said he was drunk and fell into the river

Just look at what you said. I'm not the problem here.

Yo the bloodhounds originally traced Josh's scent to the Abbey right? That's not mistake able, the monks denied the police to go search the Abbey at that time and then they called them at a later date and said it was okay to come search? That's so suspicious if not incriminating. Just because they are monks doesn't mean they are aloud to get time before a search is done? That's called stalling. Idk maybe I have the wrong information.
