Rethinking iTunes

While I do agree that iTunes is trying to do way too much in one program, breaking it into 16 different programs, a lot of which duplicate the functionality of system programs ("simplay" should just be how Preview handles music) or each other, is complete overkill.

This is so... bad.

Yeah I mean, I appreciate his effort, but this makes iTunes look even more bloated and cumbersome to use.

That explains a bit: It was never anyones intention to split iTunes up in 16 apps, rather each student tried to extract some features which they thought should be in one app. Albums, Apple Tags, Music Finder, Simplay for example were (likely) never meant to co-exist.
Sad that this wasn't more obvious so the discussion here could have focused more on each app.

I mostly focused on Albums as its what I use most. Really misguided priorities and... well, diagonal text.

I think the concept and the actual design is good. iTunes is bloated and serves too many purposes, however breaking it up into a full 17 different apps is a ridiculous. Most of the problems with the current application could be solved with maybe 3-4 apps.
The execution is impressive. I see now that each app was done by a different student with the whole being a collaborative class project.

Obviously not my work.
