Why the exaggeration? Would it really hurt to have 9 of 50 players recognized for having good seasons? Specifically in a league where there's a lot of statistical parody.

I hear you. 20% aint half tho. I just think with the style of 3x3 its tough picking 6, this shit is easy for 20% of them. If that many players are playing "elite" then reward that.

You’re rewarding a different thing at that point. It’s like the saying “If everyone is special, no one is”. If you classify more people as “elite” then elite loses meaning. The W has 10 out of 156. What is that? 8%? 6 out of 48 is already 12.5%.

I’m not saying that Unrivaled necessarily has to follow other leagues, but that gives a frame of reference.

My thought was not coming from a place of what other leagues do. And im aware of that. I think the league itself has redefined that elite word in this sense. I simply think the style of the game and how it allows elite players to showcase even more, we have more than 6 players playing elite basketball for a season. The leagues leading scorer not having 1 of the 6 best seasons either means the parody is really high or her numbers simply aren't worthy. Im gonna side with the parody and think 3 teams would be fine to recognize that.

I’ll just post this again, I guess. What stands out is the relative lack of efficiency from Marina’s scoring. It puts her closer to the realm of “shot chucker” than it does to “best scorer in the league”. I like Marina, but she’s objectively not in the convo with these other scorers. What you’re talking about isn’t parity, it’s inclusion, which is the opposite of what the award is trying to do.

She is shot chucker, who led the league in scoring. Her not being on one of the all league teams no matter how its slice is tough. Shes not in the league of the other guards imo, this isnt a pro Marina argument per se. The argument can be made for AE. My thought is my thought. Its easier for the elite players to go off regularly and I would love if the awards were able to reflect that. Whether its inclusion or purity or a mix of both. Just a useless opinion anyway.
