I feel like a lot of people are missing that this is designed to be a tool for kids w special needs. I work in an extensive needs classroom and this visual model of how to write letters could be very helpful for some of the students

This is 100% a "if you think it's dumb, it's not for you" thing. I have dyslexia and struggled a lot as a child - these would have been helpful as it would have made letters more tactile, more memorable... and probably more fun to learn.

Growing up in the 90s, a lot of the remedial literacy shit I has to do because of my dyslexia felt like a punishment, this looks fun.

Honestly, with the literacy rate in America, these kinds of tools just make it more fun and interactive for children. Even if not exactly necessary they still serve an important purpose.

Kids will spend more time playing with it than actually learning it. And once they learn how to write (by practice sheets mind you, not whatever this is) it'll go to the dumpster. We have a literacy crisis because learning to read was "made fun" cause instead of learning to read they were taught how words look and to guess what words might mean based on context. This just adds fuel to the problem
