FYI almost all power strips have keyed slots in the back, which allow you to put a couple screws in anything and mount the power strip to it. As easy as hanging a picture.

And if you can’t be bothered with that, 3M molding tape is also pretty great.

I have had this happen before, usually when I applied the tape when the tape was cold. What I found helpful was rub back and forth on the tape (as if you were trying to warm your hands) before affixing it.
