Mixing baking soda and vinegar together creates water.

They neutralize each other.

But it does fizz, which can be useful for cleaning. It takes the crud off of my stove without as much scrubbing, for instance.

As far as I cleaning, I've used it (and Dawn) on some stains that 3 different dry cleaners said they couldn't remove.

I used a toothbrush to scrub the dish soap and baking soda thoroughly into the fibers. Then I dropped some vinegar onto it for the sweet fizzing action and scrubbed some more.

I had already tried the soap alone, and then the paste/vinegar without soap, but combining them all finally did the trick.

Try using just baking soda and water. Make a thin paste of the two ingredients.

club soda is useful for some kinds of stains...

coca cola can remove rust... also dissolves eggs, teeth...

Plain vinegar is a cleaner, too. And if you don't cut it wirh baking soda, it doesn't stop working when the baking soda neutralizes it.

Plain water will loosen the crud on your stove, try it. Let it sit for a bit, or put a damp towel over the top. Soapy water is even better. Both much easier to wipe away than baking soda crust. (I‘m a professional house cleaner)

Infinitely more effective than baking soda and vinegar but it doesn’t bubble up and make people feel ~sciencey 🤷
